Ryan It is but they have them with special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickled onions on a sesame seed bun. Except they don't call it that, they call it a smörgåsbord.

Now how are you gonna go on that trip? lol!

Seriously, well done you, Kiera. I walk rescue centre dogs everyday and their smiley-faced thanks is all I need. Beware of black cats though, I did same as you and that kitty Tosca now runs the house, me and my boxer dog!

message 19069: by B the BookAddict (new)

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) The storms lashing the Lower Hunter and other regions have been noteworthy enough: they featured on the Aljazeera news yesterday. I suppose that is cold comfort to those of you who are experiencing said havoc! Sitting in my garden in the brilliant sunshine, I thought of you all and said to the heavens, 'send a little of this up NSW way'.

message 19070: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 9869 comments Well the sky is clear and the sun is out in Sydney today! No more rain or wind for now. There's a lot of debris in the streets, small branches, leaves and rubbish. Flooding and evacuations in some parts but we fared a lot better than the Hunter. Some awful scenes on the news last night.

It's quiet and calm this morning so I'm hoping it's all over. Glad things weren't so bad in Sydney Carolyn - it's usually you guys who fare worse than we do... I'm hopeful to get the majority of the cleanup here done over the next two days, so I hope their forecast of showers is wrong!

Thanks Bette, we need some of that sunshine!

The death toll now stands at seven http://www.theherald.com.au/story/303...

It's said to be worse than the Pasha Bulker storm in 2007 (which I said myself!)

message 19076: by Sally906 (new)

Sally906 | 90 comments Just popping on to say hi before I start work in a few minutes.

Mum's power came back on late yesterday afternoon. She didn't suffer any damage whatsoever. Even her garage which is prone to flooding if you so much as pick up a glass of water remained dry.

All my friends and family have reported in safely too - except for one but i saw her partner post yesterday so assuming my niece hasn't checked her facebook yet :)

Many more like that and you guys will need to have a prepared cyclone kit like we do in Darwin ;)

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Mate of mine said that he couldn't get home the other day (lives between Sydney and Hunter Valley) because a boat had broken its mooring and been washed up into the road leading into his suburb.

Oh no Brenda. That's so sad. It certainly looked like the aftermath of a high category cyclone. I couldn't believe some of the images I saw on the ABC news this morning either. It's a miracle really not more people were lost. I can't imagine as I've never experienced anything like that.
