Wow! Just watched the amazing footage of the police rescue helicopter and ground crew finding the missing 11y old autistic boy, Luke Shambrook, lost in the Victorian bush for 4 days. Amazing and such good news for his family that he's been found alive and reasonably well after 4 cold nights on his own.

We just watched it on the news too - didn't know about it until then and we were both blown away! So fantastic - a result that we certainly didn't expect because of the weather that's been about for the past 4-5 days! The police and the volunteers who didn't give up are to be commended, that's for sure!

We arrived in Swan Hill around 4.30 - long day but a good trip. Freezing weather with not ideal driving conditions but we're cosy now with the heating on high;)

Swan Hill is a gorgeous little town albeit a little chilly at the moment.

Look forward to hearing more about your experiences at the festival. I'm sure there were some great moments in spite of the mud.

There is generally a wonderful community atmosphere at Easterfest and that was still the case this year. I didn't wander around the festival much (the mud deterred me!), but I enjoyed heading into town on Saturday and Sunday where there were markets in the main street and artists performing throughout town. And the Easter Sunday service at the festival was quite special as well.
Brenda wrote: "We arrived in Swan Hill around 4.30 - long day but a good trip. Freezing weather with not ideal driving conditions but we're cosy now with the heating on high;)..."How are your toes going, Brenda? Are they healing OK?
It's still quite warm here in Brisbane (although lower temps are forecast), so I'm a bit jealous of your freezing weather and need for heating!
My foot is pretty much 100% now Kathryn, thanks:) I have finished the antibiotics and realize how incredibly lucky I have been with it all. The Royal Adelaide emergency staff were wonderful - I'm very grateful to them all:)

Carolyn wrote: "Wow! Just watched the amazing footage of the police rescue helicopter and ground crew finding the missing 11y old autistic boy, Luke Shambrook, lost in the Victorian bush for 4 days. Amazing and su..."I cried. My nearly 12 year old son is severely autistic, and this is one of my worst fears. So often when lower functioning autistic children go missing they are found drowned (they love water, generalisation I know, but I am yet to meet an autistic child in my sphere who doesn't love water). They are so quick, turn your back for literally 10secs and they can be gone. 'oh my god, he is so quick!' is often used by others when talking about my son.
So yeah I was extra happy to hear the good news.
Now sipping bubbly while waiting for my cousin to turn up, wonder what the poor people are doing today.......

Regina wrote: "Carolyn wrote: "Wow! That's one family that must have gone through hell for four days. Just miraculous that he was found!
Marianne wrote: "Now sipping bubbly while waiting for my cousin to turn up, wonder what the poor people are doing today......."Haha Marianne! Enjoy yourself!
Now sitting on a windy Wolli Creek station waiting for the train home. Excellent lunch, got my books signed, got a photo, will post that when I get home, but Dale, I forgot to mention the passage with the peas out of the colander. Senior moment, was concentrating on getting a photo.....
