It's amazing the difference between a few hundred kilometres that's for sure!!! 4c overnight tonight:(
A few hundred km Brenda? I'm in the same house as last night and tonight it's ten degrees colder. Go Melbourne.
You're in Melbourne Ryan? Well yes, it's definitely cold! A little colder here but it's all relative I guess!!

How wonderful Brenda to be where you are and sitting in your bush cabin, reading your book. Is there an open fire?
No open fire Elaine:( But the heater is going merrily;) We haven't had any rain today, just a bitterly cold wind and low temps. And yes as I said previously, much nicer than the humidity that is still at home!
Carolyn wrote: "I'm at work having my coffee and generally messing around with email/GR until 9am (oops that's now!)"I haven't worked full time for 14yrs Carolyn, it would be so different now.. I'd have to be careful not to over-do GR at work!!
Regina wrote: "Brenda enjoy those cool temperatures for me. It's sticky and yucky here in the Hunter/Newcastle."I agree, it was still warm and sticky air con weather here in Sudney's west today.

I know you love the cooler weather Brenda, keep enjoying along with what the holiday has to offer :)

I know some people find it a problem but I guess you just have to set your own limits. I have the luxury of getting into work early so have half an hour to have coffee, check my email and pop into GR for a few minutes and sometimes also check in for a bit at lunch time (on my personal iPad of course!)

That's great Brenda! I think I'd have a gushing moment lol! It's so good you're taking the time to arrange these things. Please give a hug to our Vicki Tyley ;) Green with envy in the best way ;)
Michael wrote: "It has been quite cool here in Adelaide today. Not sure what it got to but i don't think it got to the forcast of 21. Wasn't jumper weather but getting there."Loving this cool weather & grey skies. I love winter, so it's lovely to see weather like this so early :)
So cold here on Vic SouthWest coast yesterday that I had the heating on. Had wee doggie draped over a duct, cat over another!
Morning! It finally cooled down here after a quick thunderstorm, and it's lovely this morning. What a vast country - Bette's pets are draped over heating ducts, and we had our aircon on!
Carolyn wrote: "Mornings are definitely getting cooler here and also darker!"You'll soon be rugged up against those cold Autumn winds Carolyn...get the scarves out!

Haha! Probably a couple of months before we'll need those Jools.

Lol! Probably a couple of months before we'll need those Jools. Might need a jacket or cardy soon though!
Carolyn wrote: "Mornings are definitely getting cooler here (12C today) and also darker!"well DST ends soon, so then the darkness will be at the other end of the day
Well our last chance for rain has gone Cyclone Nathan crossed the coast 1000 kms away and disspersed, we were hoping for a few days rain out of him - such a lousy wet season this year. The dry season starts officially in 5 weeks - but hoping it arrives early. No rain and high humidity for the last 6 months has taken a toll on everyone. Even our heat lovers are complaining.
Marianne wrote: "Carolyn wrote: "Mornings are definitely getting cooler here (12C today) and also darker!"well DST ends soon, so then the darkness will be at the other end of the day"
And this person will be glad when DST ends. I hate getting up in the dark.
Marianne wrote: "which you have to do in winter anyway....does that mean you hate winter?"No I like winter,Marianne. After all it's footy season!
I'm a summer junkie! I have a question for you guys, I think I've noticed on Sally's books (others as well maybe Brenda). You guys must have been organised, prior GR, did you keep a running spreadsheet of your books read? Then transfer it over? What a good idea!!
I certainly didn't before Goodreads. I have added a few since as I thought if them but too many are too long ago to write reviews on.
My beef and veggie stew is in the slow cooker coming along nicely and smelling lovely. The slow cooker is full to the top, so that's a few meals for the freezer, and some Sunday lunches for my Mum too.
Marianne that sounds so good! I wanted to do a roast today but I didn't have one in the freezer. I'm due to do a huge shop. I hate going too often so like doing it as bulky as possible :)
Dale wrote: "I certainly didn't before Goodreads. I have added a few since as I thought if them but too many are too long ago to write reviews on."Same. If I did a review from long ago, sometimes I'd do a few lines.
We are home from a wonderful day with Vicki and Alan - such delightful, friendly people. They made us feel very welcome and Richard and Alan chatted like old friends while Vicki and I did the same. Beautiful countryside, with a tranquil peace surrounding their place. Loads of birds which fly right up to the house, bathing in the bird baths and saying hello:)

I had no records prior to GR Suzanne:) I would have many, many more read books over my lifetime if I was able to remember them all;)

I love how Brenda's trip away seems to be a tour of all the Aussie Readers friends :) I'm sure you're doing other stuff too, but isn't it wonderful how books bring us together?
Brenda wrote: "We are home from a wonderful day with Vicki and Alan - such delightful, friendly people. They made us feel very welcome and Richard and Alan chatted like old friends while Vicki and I did the same...."Glad you all had a wonderful day Brenda. Lovely pic :)
Great photo Brenda and Vicki! So glad we're getting to share Brenda's trip with her. Almost as good as being there :)
Thanks everyone! It was a lovely day! Having met some of our Melbourne/Victorian members we'll head to SA on Friday to see if we can meet some more members;) I have a standing arrangement to meet up with Michael each time we're in Adelaide:)
Great pic Brenda and Vicki, you look like you've known each other forever :) Glad you had a good day and it seems the men are capable of fending for themselves at all the get togethers!
Brenda wrote: "We are home from a wonderful day with Vicki and Alan - such delightful, friendly people. Oh well next time. Enjoy your last day in Victoria. Say hi to Michael and post more photos if you can. :)
Brenda wrote: "I'm still kicking myself for forgetting the photos Elaine!!! Stoopid me!"Not your fault Brenda. We all forgot...just got too carried away with the chit chat. I was kicking myself that I didn't think to take any the other two times we met up!!! Stoopid me!!! :)
My beef and veggie stew proved to be very tasty and I netted sixteen meals out of it: 12 for us and 4 for Mum. The freezer is filling up for winter...

I also have a spreadsheet of read books which I started in 2007 - each year has a new sheet - I have this spread sheet backed up in various places so if I lose on one contraption it can be found in another :)
