Thanks for replying Kiera. I only write this because my dad hit me quite badly when I was a child and he was the "get into fight with males super-macho, tall and powerful type." He was a resilient person not weak and also intelligent. A professor and, no not weak he worked his way up from poverty just had a cruel, nasty side and a sweet one too. I've forgiven him which feels right.

It was bound to happen.....I've had my new car six weeks today, and just scraped the wheel against the kerb, ouch! Oh well.
I don't mean Kiera should forgive her husband though. My dad earned his forgiveness. I hated him for two years.

Oh dear:( Never mind Marianne...I did the exact same thing with our new car too...easy to do!

Alice wrote: "I don't mean Kiera should forgive her husband though. My dad earned his forgiveness. I hated him for two years."I try not to hold grudges these days, but no I can't forgive him yet. I may never forgive him for THAT. But it was only two weeks ago and I am extremely adamant that I don't want to be in a relationship with him anymore. I just feel better without him around. As I said on an earlier post, I have NEVER lived by myself and I think this is a great opportunity for me to learn to be properly independent and autonomous and I am really looking forward to my life moving forward as a single woman. I have already put in for a transfer, so sometime within the next 5 months I will be GONE. There's absolutely nothing he can do about it. I can't wait. I'm trying to get to a Bunnings store down in the New England somewhere so that I can live near my mum's family. I love it down there and it's very cheap for a single lady on a low wage to live there.
Kiera wrote: "Hey all! I haven't been around much lately, as I have broken my marriage off with my husband after he hit me a couple of weeks ago. I've never been so scared! I hightailed it all of two hours away ..."Well we missed you Keira, and I hope you can look onwards and upwards. I'm very sorry this has happened to you.
Marianne wrote: "It was bound to happen.....I've had my new car six weeks today, and just scraped the wheel against the kerb, ouch! Oh well."That's a shame Marianne.
Well done for leaving, Kiera. It's so important that you're safe and away from him now. And to answer an earlier question - yes there are wonderful non-controlling/manipulating men in the world. One day, when you're ready, I hope you meet one of them.

Yep - I got me one - and he reads too - bonus :)
Keira make sure you go to counselling - to give you the tools to cope, you will have bad days but they will get less.
Marianne wrote: "be careful what you say online: you never know who is reading...."I agree with you Marianne.

Same.Because once it is out there there is no recalling it and we have no control over who reads things..
From A Book Lover's Calendar and Journal I liked this quote from yesterday 'You see, one of the best things about reading is that you'll always have something to think about when you're not reading.' James Patterson. This is especially true when you have just read a book like Wonder

Well we went to Hanging Rock this morning - what a huge waste of time that was! We arrived just after 10am - the cafe and information centre didn't open until 11am. We went to drive around for a look (thinking we'd fill in time) and the road was closed! So we found a worker who let us out again ($10 per car to exit!) The biggest ripoff I've seen in awhile!
So off to Bendigo we went - called into Castlemaine on the way, then lunched and shopped (for warmer clothes) in Bendigo and arrived home about an hour ago...

That is terrible Brenda. In all seriousness if you have a reciept from the man you paid - I would be writing and asking for a refund of the $10 as the road was closed so you didn't see anything. They can't charge you for something you haven't done. Do a copy of the reciept - or quote the reciept number - but they shouldn't have charged you

No we hadn't paid Sally - they let you in, but won't let you out until you pay the $10!!! That's why I found the worker who let us out without paying the fee....

Yes we are certainly seeing a fair bit, which we're very much enjoying! The accommodation is delightful...kangaroos each night around our villa, and this morning there was another family out the side enjoying their breakfast:)

No, no corners for any of us! Oh no Brenda, what a disappointment. Do you like shopping? That would have been my consolation prize, any excuse ;)
We actually bought winter clothing as it's so much cooler than home, and I hadn't brought enough;) Thought it'd be warmer so there'll be a fair amount of unworn clothing unless the weather changes!!
Brenda wrote: "We actually bought winter clothing as it's so much cooler than home, and I hadn't brought enough;) Thought it'd be warmer so there'll be a fair amount of unworn clothing unless the weather changes!!"Maybe you'll get warmer weather in Adelaide Brenda? Mind you it was quite warm here in Melbourne yesterday and today. Shame about Hanging Rock, although a friend did tell me that you now have to pay to enter/leave the park. That's a rip off. We went years ago to a harvest festival and it was great...no parking fees and we got to walk up into the rocks. They really are an amazing formation and quite eerie too. I am disappointed for you that you couldn't climb up into the rocks and see the "hanging rock" among others. :(

I guess if they are using the funds to maintain the parks/wildlife etc then it's for a good cause but if not well....I know we had to get a pass to visit all the national parks in Tassie but it all goes towards their upkeep so didn't begrudge it. But I would have thought Hanging Rock was different but then again what do I know.

HELLO Sally! I can hear you all the way down in Sydney. Don't know where the EBs were this morning. Maybe sleeping in?

It's not cold here, but lots of rain and I decided to do a slow-cooker meal tomorrow. I was at the checkout with my veggies, the guy in front spotted my onions and cleverly (he thought) said "I've never hurt an onion but they always make me cry". I said "well, that can't be right, because they only make you cry IF you hurt them."
Anyway, beef & veggie stew tomorrow.

It's like a sauna in Sydney today. And the thunder keeps rolling around.
