I missed all the excitement at your place last night Brenda. Hope it ended at a reasonable time and you all got some sleep. Very inconsiderate of them to carry on like that.
Thanks guys, got some sleep..probably more than the neighbours! But I've been out picking up pieces of glass and broken bush from our front lawn and the road! Not a night I want to repeat in a hurry!

Not a night I want to repeat in a hurry!"I wonder if the party got raided by uninvited nere-do-wells hence the violence - do they have a history of bad parties? There is a difference between noisy fun and noisy violence with police rocking up.

No not at all pleasant!
No not at all pleasant!
Got up this morning and the sky was BLUE! After the last few days of Brisbane rain it is incredibly welcome, mind you all that rain produced a lot of good reading. I now no longer have an excuse to read instead of doing the laundry or the garden :)

Very long story. But quiet ..."Ours was lucky as it was shut down effectively due to the choppers and the detective presence. It was a story to tell as we left the next day for a week in QLD for one of the kids softball championships. Mind you we didn't have to deal with the noise for long as we'd gotten home from a wedding at midnight.

Sounds lucky and unlucky! But those sort of experiences are best not repeated;)

I was craving veggies (and my family need them I think!) after a few easy dinners, so I decided on roast beef. It's so hot now, after being muggy all day the oven has added to it! Anyway, I've delegated (kinda) so I'm enjoying an afternoon of trying to clean up my lists - you know when you've added double etc - and enjoyed reviewing books from a while back. Not a bad afternoon ;)

My family gets a bit sick of salad at this time of year. So easy to just BBQ something and add a salad this time of year. Like you I'll have to make more of an effort before they rebel!
It was cool enough here to have the oven on for a while. We had roast lamb and roast veggies and mint sauce. Very tasty!

Phrynne wrote: "It was cool enough here to have the oven on for a while. We had roast lamb and roast veggies and mint sauce. 3.45am here and already 23C! Like Michael, we've had two really hot days and I'm over the heat.Good morning EBs, welcome to the working week to all ARs. Not me, thankfully:D
Morning all. Quite cool atm in Sydney. I was thinking of putting a cardigan on but I'm sure it will warm up.

Work was really good to us and let us go home early so that we did not get caught up in the traffic. There was heaps of water on the roads through, aqua-planed it at times :P

Yes, certainly is!
Morning, EBs. I'm still sniffing, sneezing, aching like I've been kicked by a horse; all those good things that come with the flu.
You poor thing Bette. Flu is miserable but hopefully you'll start to feel a bit better soon. Take care :)
Morning all! I'm not really early, but I could have been had I got out of bed when the people down the road were fighting loudly at 4am...

Hope you're on the mend soon Bette. These recent posts about parties and noisy neighbours makes me even gladden to live where we do. Hope you get some recovery sleep today Leonie.
And we live in a rural town! This is the first time we've ever had something like that happening repeatedly - I've decided that if they go off again tonight I'll be calling the police.
Leonie wrote: "And we live in a rural town! Hello! Hello! Hello! My computer died, oh, gosh, too long ago and I have been able to get limited access to goodreads through a little computer my daughter had for school, that has blocks all over the place...so I type this hoping it will save, and please forgive any typos...the keys are made for two year olds LOL. I can get into email here sometimes...just want to say hi to everyone, and if this works, well, wallah... Hugs guys.
I just came on to find several notifications about my review of Wolf Winter. I was a bit surprised since I have not read it let alone reviewed it. It appears I gave it one star!!! Anyway I deleted it all:) File it in the mysteries to never be explained basket..........
You know what, sometimes when I go to mark a book Currently Reading, I somehow accidentally give it a rating when I definitely don't mean to. I noticed this happens to others as well, probably because the rating stars are just below the thingy to change your status from Want To Read to Currently Reading. This happened to Allen & Unwin when they added a book, and to Ilka Tampke when she added her book. They didn't realise they'd rated the book, in each case quite low.
Phrynne wrote: "I just came on to find several notifications about my review of Wolf Winter. I was a bit surprised since I have not read it let alone reviewed it.
