Talk about early birds - today I'm a late bird!! Although if I hang around for another 4 hours or so I might catch Bette! It's been a busy day and although I've checked GR, I haven't had time to comment, so happy birthday for yesterday, Marianne! Sounds like you had a special day!
And good luck in your job search, Laura. Hope something suitable comes your way soon!
Good morning Earlies:)I actually slept in yesterday till 5.51am! Ruined my whole day as I felt I was constantly in catch up mode!
Yesterday was sunny here but windy. My nose ran all day; last time I saw it, it had turned right at the highway and was headed for Melbourne.
Thanks for the wishes guys :) I'm trying to keep busy like more walking n believe it or not i managed to get sunburnt on the beach...felt strange from having winter snow last week to getting sunburnt this week! Heh! ^^;;

So nice you got to meet Vicki, I've loved all her books and she seems such a clever IT lady too lol. It's nice to meet fellow AR's isn't it?
Has anyone had any luck with finding books in this group https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...From the group 'What's The Name of That Book?' I'm curious as the memories I have of the book are very slim, but you never know I guess!
Watching the news on Tele, looks like another leadership spill is on the cards. PM has just made a verrrrry short appearance to respond to same.
Oh I keep forgetting to tell everyone - I've gotten my non reading friend to read! Firstly she read Big Little Lies, I thought that it was a safe bet as she and I have school age kids, think the gossiping mums are nuts etc, now she's reading The Husband's Secret. Next I've given her The Rosie Project. Then I guess it's up to her. We spoke about books for half an hour the other day, and I was pulling books off my shelf left right and centre. Fun!

I must admit that I think I give people an odd look when they tell me they don't read....

Yes, I've used that group and received a correct answer within two days. It rescued me from many nights spent wondering 'what is that book????'

I saw that one at the cinema. It was pretty good. Very gory in parts. I still have a very vivid mental impression of a body (dead of course) being mashed into the mud under the tank tracks.

It was wonderful to finally meet you, Sharon, and put a face to a name. Proof that I hadn't inadvertently wandered into the midst of a group of speed reading robots calling themselves Aussie Readers. :)
The funniest bit for me was Gypsy's reaction to seeing cattle for the first time. I thought she was going to combust with excitement. How she missed seeing the hare, I'll never know.
Brenda wrote: "That's fantastic Sharon! So glad you had a great time with Vicki and Alan:)"Looking forward to seeing you in March, Brenda. Make sure you come with a good appetite -- as Sharon can testify, Alan usually cooks enough for a small army. :)

Yes, I'd read that somewhere..
woo hoo!! picked up my new Honda Jazz this morning. Been to Mum's and to Aldi, backed into my spot in the garage (bells & whistles on the reversing camera going berserk) successfully. Now I need to read the thick manual to work out how to set the air con so I don't freeze and how to preset the radio and +++ other things. Did connect the mobile phone via blue tooth though.... not that I ever used to talk on the phone while driving before.
Marianne wrote: "woo hoo!! picked up my new Honda Jazz this morning. Having recently purchased a new car I know the feeling. Joyful but scary at the same time. I've had mine for 5 months and still don't know what half the buttons and bits do!!! And I still park it a mile away when I'm at work so it doesn't get damaged. Enjoy!!! :)

Well done! I've been wondering how you were going with it:) It's very exciting isn't it!!

Mine's a Hyundai i30 Trophy. I was driving a Hyundai Getz but then my daughter got her licence so gave that to her and was lucky enough to upgrade.

Marianne wrote: "The salesman was about 12 yrs old and it was his first sale, LOL"I so agree. We've been tiptoeing around the process of buying a new car.
Our little Suzuki swift is 12 years old and though she has served us well she is starting to make potentially expensive noises :)
Yesterday we were at a car yard and this little muppet came out and started to try and sell us the car we were looking at. I am sure he was still wearing nappies there was no way he was old enough to be working!!
Hubby implied that maybe I was getting older - Pfffff was my answer - LOL!
