Well that was disappointing! All ready to go out for lunch and meet another couple - car won't start:( Sounds like starter motor to my uneducated ears;) We don't have NRMA as it's a youngish car (that might have to change) so rang our mechanic.....later, too busy now!!

Oh well, more time for reading;)

Kind of wish that could happen to me. We have to drive right to the other side of Sydney this evening for a work type event, just canapés and wine, and then drive back again. Two hours in the car just to show up and be polite. Much rather read my book at home:)

I said to my husband (if it's battery) why don't they have a warning in cars when your battery is getting low? Look at your phone, your iPad etc...why can't they do that with cars;)

message 16769: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Whenever we get the first freezing temps I cross my fingers. Whenever my battery goes, it's ALWAYS around the new year. I made it through this year.

Apparently they used to have those as a gauge (according to my mom) but they rudely got rid of it because they like to leave us stranded...

Just received this email from the AWW organisers: (in part)

2014 Crime and Mystery Challenge Wrap Up

Most prolific reviewer(s)

We all pale into insignificance when compared to Brenda who posts her reviews at Good Reads. Brenda reviewed 37 titles just for this genre during the 2014 challenge! The only person who came even vaguely close (if you use a fairly loose definition of the word close) is my fellow challenge co-host Shelleyrae who reviewed 14 books at Book'd Out which she classified as crime/mystery/thriller for last year's challenge.

Woohoo!!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9993 comments Just back from Canberra and need to share my day (a sad one) with my GoodReads AR friends:
After visiting my sister in Canberra Wednesday, got a call from my brother-in-law early this morning to say the end was near, so drove down with my other sister.
We thought as first she was going to hang on, but at 1.48pm she passed on with all of us around her.
A relief for her and her husband, who has been the best carer she could ever have had since she was diagnosed with terminal bile duct cancer almost 2 years ago. She was just 65.
I won't be an Early Bird tomorrow.....
Thanks for listening.
Good night.

B the BookAddict (bthebookaddict) Yesterday, my b-i-l turned up with a brand new wheelbarrow for me, yay! After he put it together, the first thing I did was plop myself into it and demand to be wheeled around the garden. Isn't that what everyone does?
