Angela and Kathryn, just reading about your sleep, or lack thereof, makes me feel tired and wanting to go and have another coffee.
No - I'm not napping yet!! Good luck for you, Angela - hope you can enjoy your lunch! That's good to hear, Dale. Marina Prior is wonderful, isn't she? I should get one of the CD's out to play it again.
And hope you managed to get a coffee and it perked you up, Regina! I think I might be due for one sometime!

Feeling a little under the weather Kathryn; still affected by that and the driving I think...I'll be right though:) Just need some reading time;)

Still powering through Kathryn! Hope you are too. Luckily this miserable weather doesn't make me feel so guilty for sitting indoors :)

Home-grown apricots = yum! Enjoy, Bette.
Would you like some cockatoos? Damned birds ate the first ever crop of apples off our two young apple trees. The granny smith only had one apple on it and I was so looking forward to sharing it with Alan. Now, they’re targeting the figs. We need to find a way that will protect them. I don’t like Alan using loose netting for fear the little birds will get caught up in it.

Happy quilting!

Very well indeed, thanks Vicki.
I wanted to draw your attention to message no 7624 in the recently purchased book thread.
I won't get to them until I go OS, but anyway.....

Oh wow, Marianne, I'm glad you alerted me as I would've missed it for sure. Thank you so much -- I just hope they all live up to expectation. :)
I'm sure they will, if they're anything like Two Birds. Everyone on GR likes them, I can't imagine I won't.But, as I said, I downloaded them so when I get my tablet for my 60th birthday, I can put Kindle on that then take it with me when we go to Italy in August and read when I get a chance...
So don't expect to see any reviews for a while. But when I do, they will go everywhere (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Bookworld, Google etc)

I'm just chuffed you bought them. I can't imagine you doing a lot of reading in Italy... too many other things to see and do. :)
Many thanks for your review of Two Birds. You write a great blurb (something I struggle with).
Oh, it's a motorcycle rally. While hubby is drooling over old bikes I will find a quiet corner to read. When we go out for the day, I'll be snapping with my new camera, but when they all gather to talk about bikes, I can stave off boredom with one of your books!

Looking for an inspirational bio of a teacher or person who works with disadvantaged teenagers. Preferably reasonably recent (not To Sir With Love). Preferably Australian but not necessary.

The seams are not pressed and are shown on the 'front-side' of the quilt. Like so:

I have the app on my iPad as well. I like how they link to each other - so if I read a book on my iPhone at lunch time then pick up the iPad when I get home it synchs it so I am at the exact same spot I left off - Magic :)
I also have the Kobo books application (as sometimes they are cheaper than Amazon and have books I can't get on Amazon)

Started working out for the first time in ages yesterday with a new routine. Want to lose a bit of weight but mainly wanna put some muscle on since I'm pretty sure mum could beat me in an arm wrestle.Pushups and situps are okay but jeeeeeeesus wept, lunges and squats. Trying to squat down and put books on shelves and stuff at work, pretty much dying.

Thanks. It's had its moments Vicki, but good over all.

Lol...I don't even have any and I'm ready for them to go back! ;)
Well I don't any more!!!
I am actually on the receiving end now. When they start going back I am one of the people who has to go back to work and look after them:)

Lol Phrynne. At my eldest son's school (special needs school) the teachers count down until the holidays, and us parents dread the start of them. Then once the holidays start we parents count down until the end of the holidays and the teachers dread it! - probably happens at every school, a closer relationship between parents and teachers at this one though, so we poke each other about it.
I can handle the 2 week holidays, but this 6 week one *sigh*, I don't know how I managed before school - that's right, i don't think I really did manage!
Julie - lots of kids in your neighbourhood? Or lots of them in the shopping centre?

Yes they are! I try to steer clear of them, and get my groceries outside of the 9 to 5.
Regina wrote: "Lol Phrynne. At my eldest son's school (special needs school) the teachers count down until the holidays, and us parents dread the start of them. Then once the holidays start we parents count down..."
Bit of both Regina but mostly the ones in the shopping centres get me, they just run rampant, one boy aged about twelve was tearing around with three other younger ones last week at the shops and came crashing straight into me...nearly knocked me off my feet and gave me one almighty bruise where his head hit me!! He joined a group of adults at a nearby open cafe who witnessed it all and said nothing...but then, why would they when they cleary think its acceptible behaviour to run around like that.
The shops get trashed with toys strewn everywhere and balls being tossed around...doesn't seem proper to me, am I just getting too old??
We have many kids coming with their parents to their physio appointments. Most are great, a few - not so much... :)

No not getting old Julie! That's disgusting that the adults didn't see that you were alright, AND reprimand the kids...typical of a lot of adults nowadays though I'm afraid...

That is appalling, not only the kid/s running rampant, but also the adults lack of action.
Not getting old at all.

No, that's never OK Julie. I would have had a word with the parents. It's not acceptable for adults to allow children to behave like that and not even apologise to you.
I pulled the boy up and told him to take it easy that it isnt a playground and he could really hurt someone, but he just ran over to his..I presume.. family. You know if I was a frail elderly person it would have been a much more serious incident. What can you do but despair for their ignorance...the parents as well.
There's just so much bad behaviour and lack of respect everywhere.
EXCEPT here :D
Just as well here Jools! Did you see on the news the other night the young hoon in his car in Sydney doing burn-outs and he lost control, the rear of his car spun out and hit a lady (60ish) - she's now in hospital with a shattered pelvis. The driver took off; he's been caught now though!
