Not really Liz. We have a section called Author's Spotlight for authors to promote their own work. Other than that we just chat about what we like and dislike in our general threads.

Goodreads is really slow for me and I haven't been able to get on easily. Maybe it's overloaded.

Thanks, Marianne, and a belated happy New Year.

I wish I could say I was of gallivanting around the countryside, but no such luck. Boxing Day night I was hit with the nasty gastro bug doing the rounds. I can't remember the last time I felt so ill. Even had to cancel visitors for fear of passing it on. Alan survived unscathed, though. Anyway, I feel much better and ready to face the world again. :)

Yesterday, I picked loads of ripe apricots from my tree. Fruit tastes so good when you grow it yourself, good and free from all soil additives and sprays etc.

Sorry to hear your first week back was traumatic Sally. That's not usual for January in Australia!
My week should be fairly quiet. Got a whole heap of problems to sort out that people kept emailing me about last week even though I had an away message on my email, so at least will have plenty to do.

message 16635: by Regina (new)

Regina I can't decide what to do, thus I'm not really doing anything (apart from hiding from children and ignoring housework).

I could read, I could do some family history research, I could do some art journalling, instead I'm fluffing about. I think it is because I know that if I attempt to do one of the above I will be interrupted within a minute....

Haha Julie! I'll just be back to reading at my own pace and making the most of my trip too and from work.I made the mistake of counting the unread books on my kindle this morning - 178, so I'll be busy for a while yet!

Only because I am the number cruncher at work and I returned on the Monday and the quarterly stats were due in on the Tuesday!!! So was head down and tail up buried in mugs of coffee and paperwork - LOL!!! I do love figures, thrive on my stats - they really light my fire so to speak - so was not a hardship in that sense - just the time frame was a challenge - less than a day instead of 3 or 4!! I really hit the ground running.

Ashleigh, really happy to hear you're attending patchwork class; quite a good size quilt for your first one! You realize you're now on the way to becoming a quilting addict, it all starts with that first quilt:D I don't know Hobbysew shops but people who quilt are always lovely so you'll always be in good company!

20 minutes? That makes my 3.5 hours seem positively decadent!! Hope we can both (especially you) manage to find some time today for a nanna nap or, at the very least, have an excellent sleep tonight, Angela!

Funny you should say full mooon - those few rare nights when I can't sleep - they always seem to be on full moon nights. I mentioned it to a doctor once and he said he wasn't surprised and that as far as he knew there was no medical reason why, it just is for some people!!!

It's to do with the excess energy and the fact that we are lunar creatures.. I know people who save up their ironing till there is a full moon due to lack of sleep!
