I just got back from seeing the movie The Imitation Game - about code breaking in WWII. It was great - after reading Station X: The Codebreakers of Bletchley Park last year and finding it interesting, although a little difficult to grasp and a bit dry, it was good to see the situation in a film. Some of the names in the movie were familiar from reading the book, and now I'd kind of like to go back and re-read it, now being able to put faces and personalities to names (albeit Hollywood versions) and having a more visual appreciation of the setting - but I probably won't go back to re-read it!

Oh Liam! You know, it seems like every time we have a change of government they change the rules, so I expect there will be many more changes of rules by the time your turn comes...lets hope its a lot sooner :) save your your pennies and put some aside for early retirement.

Even if I won loads of money, I would still want to do some kind of work. Working can be quite satisfying, it keeps you active, keeps your mind sharp and keeps you in contact with people. I just wouldn't necessarily be in the job I'm in now. ;)

That's been happening to me on and off since Sunday Bette. I've had it not just with goodreads but other sites I visit too. Which makes me think it's Firefox! Especially with it happening to others!
Morning all! And no, Firefox didn't tell me anything, but that's probably because I'm using safari ;)
I use Google Chrome and it didn't issue any warnings, maybe because I'm logged in all the time, but when I went to open the digest email I got all sorts of warnings

I logged on 10 mins ago and there was no message like that - I am using firefox too.

I have firefox and have not had any problems. But hey, who can figure out computers?
I also use Firefox on my laptop and had no warnings. Weird!

Hi all! I thought I'd drop in and say I made it safely to Italy yesterday...We have snow! Very different from Summer time lol!! New phone n the ap for the samsung s4 isn't very good for groups especially if you want to see the most up to date posts :( Not sure how to get past that problem actually :/Today I learnt that duck is also nice as a salami too!
Well ducks have beaks and flippers. What more do you need for a salami?

Last year I saw him in the wonderful series adaption of Parade's End by Ford Madox Ford. Thought him a great actor and yes, kinda sexy too:)
I had a great day shopping yesterday. No books but my local chemist was clearing out individual items of perfumes on sale. I picked up J'Adore, normal retail $180, Christian Dior's Diorella retail $190 and Miss Dior normally $115 all for $25 each!!!

I have been so excited - we had a pair of little honeyeaters build a nest in a pot plant outside our bedroom window. We have been watching them build the nest then just before Christmas two little eggs appeared. They have been easy to watch as we have net curtains and peak through them - birds don't know we're there!!! Monday morning we had two baby birds - ugly little critters. Monday night we could hear them cheaping and watched mum and dad fly back and forth to sate their little appetites.Yesterday afternoon - silence - no sign of mum and dad. After an hour no sign of parents, so hubby went and peeked in the nest. Nothing - no indicaiton anything was there. Gone!!!
We don't think it was a cat as the pot plant was a bamboo and destined for the garden so was just a nursery pot and very flimsy. If a cat had tried to get them it would be knocked over. We're guessing a preditor bird.
Poor baby birds.

I've had the same thing happen with four of my oldest goldfish in the outdoor pond this year, one by one I found them half eaten on the back lawn...it looked like they had been pecked! They were all six years old and so big, I have never had that problem before this year??
