It is a sad day for us in our household. Last night, my husband and I had to say goodbye to our little budgie, Lifou who passed away. I tried very hard to save him, but it seemed that it was just his time. When you put him to bed, he would peek out from under the towel as though to say, "I am not tired." he'd also turn upside down on command, dance and would come when called- and then try to bite us! Lol. and he hated the sound of fast running water. whenever we ran water for washing up etc he would go off his nut. We will miss his cheekiness very much. We only had him 3 years, but in that short time he has made a proper stamp on our hearts. RIP Little mate!
So sorry to hear that Kiera, they are such smart little creatures with real personalities and I know how they get into your heart. He has a new set of wings now...RIP little Lifou.
It is sad to lose a little budgie mate - they have their own personalities. We've lost a few over the years and our current one is over 13 years old...he's a cheeky boy!

I don't seem to have luck with birds. All of mine die really young. What do I do wrong? :(
Maybe you could speak to a bird vet Kiera? They're very sensitive with what they eat so perhaps you're "spoiling" them with something that's not right for them? Just an idea...

Hope you can get some help...we have an excellent one here so I'm sure there'd be bird vets in your area:)

Thank you Sharon. I was just in the kitchen making lunch and it was very strange not to hear his chatter. :(

4.15am, having my first coffee, cat on my lap:) I've just finished my coffee outside like normal. Had a terrible fright. I saw a 3ft fat dwarf standing on the garden path. It took me a few seconds to realize this was actually my garbage bin, sitting out (where I'd wheeled it yesterday) on the path so I wouldn't forget to put it out tonight!
When we had a pharmacy in Campbelltown many years ago, we had a display that included a life-sized poster of a man. I can't recall how many times I walked up to serve him before I would realise, again.....

Lol Bette, which one of the three dwarves...the Yellow, Red or Green? ;)
Lol at Marianne and Bette's dwarf! Years ago when we still had our previous dog, who was not a terribly brave soul, we bought a large camellia in a pot, about 6 ft tall and bushy. We didn't have time to plant it that afternoon so we stuck it in the corner of the back yard. That night when we took the dog outside he had hysterics, barking his head off at the scary intruder lurking in the corner.
Hahaha, that's so funny Marina! When my bullmastiff was a pup, she discovered her reflection in one of the bedroom windows and she went crazy growling and barking at this strange dog in her yard. It went on for a few months. It was a crack up! She is also not such a brave girl. Lol.
Funny, Kiera! Now I come to think of it, I don't think I've ever owned a brave dog. Maybe their reputation as mankind's protectors is a trifle exaggerated!
I'm being totally distracted by our two cats, who are attempting to stalk a cheeky mouse running along our patio. They are inside, and the mouse is outside. It's very cheeky, because it keeps coming back and looking at them. There's been one banged cat head, and much intent staring.
I'm actually attempting to work through the paperback edits of Resistance. Cats are way too distracting.

Oh Brenda you look like your ol' self again...only...have you lost a few petals over the holidays? ;)
I checked with hubby, I think it was a life-size dummy wearing various Thermoskin supports, so life-like enough to mistake out of the corner of the eye....

No-one would get near our place without her letting us know. She guards well.
I'm quite excited. Just been notified I won a Goodreads giveaway. A Book Lover's Calendar and Journal That will be fun. Will have to wait a few weeks for it to arrive in Australia.

Sounds like you had a great reading year Sally! Will be hard to top that in 2015 :)

And I can absolutely say that although I've never had a patient dressed only in thermoskins come into our practice, that we get the odd person who walks in and immediately removes way too much clothing. (Even before we've asked "So what brings you in here today?")
Oh the joys of being a physio... :)

I can imagine not wearing underwear if you are wearing a particular lovely dress where underwear would show or create a line that you don't want (although I've certainly never worn anything like that myself, and can't see anything like that entering my wardrobe in the foreseeable future!!), but I can't imagine no underwear just in day-to-day getting around??? And especially if you're going to the physio who might be getting you to do all sorts of things where underwear could be beneficial!!
Lucky you, Leonie!

I can't imagine going to a Dr or Physio without my BEST underwear on let alone none! Must be my Presbyterian upbringing :)
