Anyone seen the movie Words and Pictures? DH and I got the DVD out last night and really enjoyed it. About a writer and an artist and the value and impact of their crafts.
@Dale Haven't seen that one but will check it out.Expected top of 31C here today. Very warm here yesterday with a vicious wind which made being outside quite uncomfortable.
Okay everyone, I stand corrected. A few weeks ago I mentioned I had been reading the novels of Honey Brown Aussie Author. So as I read each novel, she has five, I am reading number 4, at the moment. I am now hooked, she is my new favorite. Sometimes it takes awhile, can not put my finger on why I was so so because now I love her work. Hope she is writing another book because I will be looking forward to her next novel.
Think it's the first time I have read about a movie in a DVD magazine, wanted to see it and pleased I did. Glad you enjoyed it too Michael.

Honey Brown. I have only read her first one so far and I keep meaning to get back to her.

Cute profile pic, Brenda! Do you have your Christmas tree up as well?! I thought about doing it today...but didn't!
Our tree is up - and today was Christmas Card writing day - all done ready to mail tomorrow! Is a marathon effort but a glass or three of sparkling Shiraz helps lubricate for envelope licking :)
The last Sunday in November is my traditional Christmas card writing day and I love it - the Christmas carols get played for the first time too :)
Oh you are so organised Sally! I should do something like that - I didn't send any last year for the very first time ever!

Well done, Sally - you're a more organised woman than I! Hope you've included the correct draft of your Christmas letter in all your Christmas cards (I finished reading Hello From the Gillespies about a week ago - an incorrect draft of the family's Christmas letter accidentally gets sent out to all and sundry!). Cute profile pic for you too!

Don't leave it until the 24th Michael!

After the heat of yesterday, we have dark clouds threatening to rain here. Only hoping this comes to fruition so I don't have to water the garden again.

Happy reading...

Of course now I will of read them all, there lies another problem....we wait for her to write her next novel.
Hello, Early Birds:) Yesterday, my niece and g-niece went to stay at my sisters' around the corner. The house seems hideously quiet without them but Poppy the cat is very relieved!
LOL - I know what relieved in animals is - our Beagle loves it when the grandchildren come visit - he has a sniff and a little play then he's ready for a nap - trouble is grandchildren want more - so i get these long suffering sideways looks as the kids throw ball for him or encourage him to play chasey (more of a reluctant plodsy) then when he sees bags being packed up and a general movement to the front door life comes back to him - up comes his tail and he bounces around saying goodby. Once they've gone he goes to his bed and settles down with a huge sigh that only a dog can do - a sort of "thank goodnes they're gone" sigh - LOL!!

Anyone notice the article in Sunday papers about Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty being made into a movie, or series for TV? Names of leading ladies atm are Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon. No male leads yet but suggestions include Hugh Jackman and Matt Damon. Here's one of several online articles about it:

It would make a brilliant TV series wouldn't it!

☼♄Jülie wrote: "Anyone notice the article in Sunday papers about Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty being made into a movie, or series for TV? Can't say I pictured Nicole Kidman as Celeste and I didn't picture either Madeleine or Jane as so,eone like Reecs Witherspoon, but maybe with her hair, make-up and costume done she might look more like one of them...
Kathryn wrote: "☼♄Jülie wrote: "Anyone notice the article in Sunday papers about Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty being made into a movie, or series for TV? I could picture The brilliant Kat Stewart and Richard Roxborough, Marta Dusseldorp, Adrienne Pickering...even Kat Stewart's famous TV sister Asher Keddy, to name but a few.
Also looking forward to the long awaited release of this 1952 Classic The Price Of Salt by Patricia Highsmith into movie to be released next year sometime. Starring Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara, it is titled "Carol".

Hi everyone. I'm feeling depressed about Christmas. Does anyone else feel like their family is too dysfunctional to have a nice Christmas lunch together?

Most of mine are overseas so I don't have that problem. It's hard to argue properly on Skype:)

I also get prechristmas depression but when the day comes I'm so excited to have everyone here. We generally have about 30 to lunch and that's just close family.
