Bette BookAddict wrote: "Hello, EB's:)For those of you with no rain, I will start lining up a 'bucket brigade' to send some of ours your way! And you can have the cold 10C we had yesterday as well!"
Wow 10° is a heat wave at the moment :) We had a temp of only 4° yesterday. Hoping it's warmer today but not likely. Currently it's 3.7° but only feels like -0.4° o.O
Listening to old radio interviews of Robin Willuams. I agree with you Brenda - depression is terrible. Quite a somber morning.
Such a sad loss. Frightening how it so often seems the most cheerful people on the outside are the ones who are suffering most on the inside.
Ashleigh wrote: "Channel Ten has Mrs Doubtfire on tonight. And mum and I just catalogued which movies we have. Dead Poet's Society, Good Will Hunting,Aladdin, Patch Adams, Jumanji, Hook and Patch Adams...I'm search..."So many good movies, he was a brilliant comedian and actor. Very sad.
Someone mentioned it at work. We were all shocked. The youngest person is 22 and the oldest is 63. All of us loved him. Not many celebrities who can attract everyone. Depression is insidious. Please, please, please seek help if you are feeling unrelentingly sad.
Very moved, floored and saddened by the news of Robin Williams' death. The world is indeed less without him and much, much less funny. The guy who gave us the words 'nanu nanu', 'shazbot' and 'good morning, vietnam' has left a huge, huge void.

I heard that. She and Katherine Hepburn were my favourite actresses - both very classy!
Helloooooooooow ow o ow ow?Good Morning Early Birds?? I can't be the first one up surely :0) ok well I'll just take my cuppa back to bed and have a read then...too easy ;)
Bette BookAddict wrote: "Hey there, Julie, wish I could read in bed!"
I love reading in bed, it's my favourite place and where I get the most done :)

Me too. A cup of tea, my lap top and a good book and I could stay in bed all day. Never get the chance though!
Bette BookAddict wrote: "Vale, Lauren Bacall, what a woman!"Yes, was only watching a film with her in it the other night. I wonder if we will now get a Lauren Bacall film fest on TV. I would watch it.
Some of us older folk at work were talking about Lauren Bacall yesterday and were surprised that none of the younger people (in their 20s & 30s) knew who she was and even more surprised that they hadn't heard of Humphrey Bogart or the movie Casablanca.Maybe it is time for a Lauren Baccall (& Humphrey Bogart) film fest!

I know Lauren B. Wasn't in it, but I loved "The African Queen" with Humphrey Bogart and Katherine Hepburn....another terrific actress of the time.
Phrynne wrote: "Me too. A cup of tea, my lap top and a good book and I could stay in bed all day. Never get the chance though!"I could survive for a very long time in those conditions Phrynne!
So I've discovered that Sydney is quite considerably warmer than where I live. Think I have to go shopping and get some lighter tops as I packed for bitterly cold weather lol

Yes we have some really nice days even in the middle of winter. It can get cold sometimes though. And if you go to the Blue Mountains be prepared for anything!

Wiseman's Ferry is good but you will need your winter woollies for the Mountains:) Enjoy!

It's bitterly cold in the evenings and early mornings there

Whereas I wouldn't last five minutes. Not a fan of bed for reading.
I read every night before I go to sleep :) And my Kindle is wonderful with its little light, and feather lightness, given that I have a thing for huge thick books.

The kindle is very much easier to read in bed than the big heavy books:) But I do read both...seeing as I used to ONLY read print books, I'm used to it;) I couldn't NOT read in bed!! It's part of my bedtime routine;)

The answer for reading comfort in bed is LOTS of pillows. I have three behind me and one on my knees to support the book:)
Good morning, Early Birds! You know ever since I read here of Robin Wiliiams' death, I want to type 'Good morning Vietnam' instead of EBs:)
Bette BookAddict wrote: "Good morning, Early Birds! You know ever since I read here of Robin Wiliiams' death, I want to type 'Good morning Vietnam' instead of EBs:)"Yeah, but you have to do it in that Robin Williams style, Bette.
Good morning to you too. And any other Early Birds hanging about...
Good morning all. I am trying to get my head around these allegations against Cliff Richard. I hope in this case they are false
Phrynne wrote: "Good morning all. I am trying to get my head around these allegations against Cliff Richard. I hope in this case they are false"Oh no! I can't handle any more news like that.
Yes this is crazy isn't it. It's hard to avoid pessimism when stories like this crop up just too often. On a lighter note, hope everyone enjoys their Friday on the lead up to the weekend ;)
