All I can say is better you than me with this one Marianne.

Yeah, I looked at it again this morning and thought, b*gger that, I'm not being told what to read. Hubby can read it or it can go straight back to the owner!!
I wash my hands of it.

Vicki wrote: "Good for you, Marianne. Learning to say no can be hard but ever so liberating. :)"Hello, this windy morning, Vicki.
Bette BookAddict wrote: "hey there, Marianne (treadmill-er, bookseat-er) lol!"Yes, I need to get on that thing instead of reading posts here......

Good for you Marianne. No is a useful word.
It's a chilly 9C here in W'bool with wind gusts of 63kmh. With a top of only 13C, it's not going to be a nice day. Couch! here I come.
Here in Sydney we are still getting some strong gusts of wind. But the sun is shining and it is great drying weather. I have brought the towels and the sheets in already and it isn't even lunch time yet.
My sister said she would give any book twenty pages to see if it was worth reading, so that's what I gave the book the doctor gave hubby. I read exactly twenty pages of N by John Alan Scott, stopping mid-sentence. While there was some lovely prose, the reading itself was hard work, and I did not feel any need to even finish the sentence I was in. The good news is, I can count the 20 pages towards the June Read-a-thon!!!

Bette BookAddict wrote: "Hey Julie, happy Monday morning to you:)"Hi Bette! And a happy Monday morning too you too ;)
Morning all. It's a nice chilly 'feels like' 5.9 degrees here in the Upper Hunter after a freezing day full of wind and chilliness.
Morning Leonie, it's a nice part of the world to be in at this time of the year. I have some nice memories of weekends in the Hunter Valley in winter.
Apparently our maximum today should be about 13 degrees, and I have a pool session to do for work... Am hoping the water temp is decent!
Good morning all the early birds. This is a late person who didn't want to get out of bed in the cold this morning. House heated now and washing done. I feel better now.

Have to admit Julie, I'm usually an early riser even if I am not on Goodreads early. But this time tiredness after a busy few days and late nights caught up. Still, it was all worth it.
Morning, Vicki, we're here, I've seen Bette posting so she must be awake!I must away to the treadmill, unfortunately to read a Pharmacy journal :(
Vicki wrote: "Sounds like riveting reading, Marianne. Enjoy! ;)"At least I can reward myself halfway by switching to a novel ;)
Hi ho, Vicki and Marianne. I've been here since 3am but busy writing a review and then swanning around in other threads.
Having seen a young friend's life torn apart by an abusive and violent husband, I am a proud supporter of the White Ribbon Campaign. July 26th is White Ribbon Night: https://sna.etapestry.com/prod/viewEm...
Morning All, it's a bit cooler here in Sydney this morning...8.5C but looking promising for a nice sunny day.
Beautiful morning here in the south coast. Have been out for a walk along the beach. Sun sparling on the water. Magic!
Ashleigh wrote: "Brr cold waiting for a bus."Ouch! I feel for you Ashleigh, I remember those days brrrrrr! :#
Was very chilly here too! Bought new coats for our dogs today, and was glad of the snuggly cat last night :)
I seem to remember some conversation about Patrick Ness books recently. Have any of you read More Than This? Thoughts?

Ooh yes, this sounds goooood Dale.
Been busy, busy at work. End of financial year - huge report due Friday as on Sunday hubby and I off to NZ for a month. Still today I came home from work and hubby cooked dinner while I sat and drank a wine and finished Containment by New Zealand author Vanda Symon. Gosh I love her books, and I hope she is currently writing as I only have one more book to go. She writes police procedurals and they are very edgy but have enough personal life in them to appeal to me and give a break from the crimes.

Ooh, look how late this is! I didn't have time for it this morning, set off to visit my sister in Canberra at 6.15, just back now.
see, now I'd much rather read 400 pages of
(which arrived today) than 600 pages of
(which is up next to hubby's spot on the dining room table)
