Joanne wrote: "happy 2014 all. How did you celebrate or celebrating your NYE? i celebrate it with style... that is, sleep. :P"Yeah - we're not into big celebrations. Only year we stayed up was the 1999/2000 one - and hubby was in charge of the police IT unit so he had to stay up with his staff out at headquarters in case the unthinkable happened. We went out with him, well all the spouses did. Once New Zealand ushered in 2000 with no problems - then the east coast of Oz it was pretty much an anti-climax so we cracked open the bubbly and watched the rest of the world come in.
After that New Years were just same ole, same ole, we wait until NZ new year comes in and drink a glass of bubbly then watch Sydney come in and that is 10:30 PM our time so we toddle off to bed :)
Happy New Year everyone!!! 2014 will be a great year for us all, wherever we are, whatever we are doing!

Okay, so happy new year to everyone! Now, as someone who is very partial to a curry and who is planning a trip to Australia sometime in 2014 I'd like to know where I can find what you think are the best Indian restaurants in your part of Australia? I look forward to your replies.
David - Shakahari in Melbourne has amazing Indian food :-) It has an alternative approach but is very popular. When are you down our way?

Where about in Oz will you be visiting? It's a long way from Melbourne to Sydney for a curry night. But then a good curry is worth a thousand km drive I suppose. :-o)
Angela wrote: "David - Shakahari in Melbourne has amazing Indian food :-) It has an alternative approach but is very popular. When are you down our way?"Not sure yet Angela - it depends on earnings and finances but its certainly our intention to fly down there at some point - probably in the last quarter of the year.

Good luck making your decision!

Good luck Ashleigh...and I can feel your pain! I pick up on those things all the time, ESPECIALLY in a professional setting. It's just not hard to check these things out!!!

All the best Steve. It can be exciting as well as a little sad living the current job, specially when you get along with the people.
Brenda wrote: "An advancement on your career Steve? Congratulations and good luck!"Same industry, same sort of job, but with more opportunities for advancement. :-)

An Announcement
It is with great pleasure that I would like to announce our newest moderator to the group - Sharon Hill, she of the cute smiley avatar reading her book:)
While it's wonderful to have Sharon join us, we are also sad to lose Mish as moderator. Mish has decided to step down but will be remaining active within the group. She will remain a moderator though for a little while to help Sharon to get settled into her role.
I know Sharon will be an asset to our moderator team, and I'm sure you'll all support her while she finds her feet.
