Many people hate ironing Dale, I guess that's why I've been kept busy all these years.

Dale Harcombe | 6969 comments More than likely Sharon. Sounds like you have filled a niche.

That's the same logic that we use to explain why mum gets so many house cleaning gigs :P

Well as you may have gathered, we are back on dry land again! Had an interesting holiday, fantastic shore days in Isle of pines, Suva, Port denaru and Vila. Lots of relaxing, sipping cocktails and reading which was great. I will put some photos up in a few days - we are in Qld for a few more days before heading home :)

Don't rush home. The weather here is weird and the smoke today is dreadful. In Sydney anyway. Maybe it is better up your way.

We saw that on the TV this morning, it's looking very bad again! Was so incredibly scary while we were away, and hardly getting any news wasn't the best - we had fires about 2-3 kms as the crow flies away from our house at one stage! Still not even summer!

I was thinking about you, Brenda and your house and wondering how much you knew of what was going on. Since you couldn't do anything while on the cruise I didn't say anything. But sent prayers up all would be safe.

Thanks Dale. We had our daughter in constant touch with us, as I had international roaming set up so could receive and send texts. She asked us at one stage what to take if she had to evacuate. I told her just herself and the pets. I was too far away to try to tell her where things were, so figured she was the most important...fortunately we didn't have to worry...

Sounds like a lovely day Michael. Glad you enjoyed it. Those sorts of things are always fun and full of nice surprises and it's great to be able to taste all the different foods. I also love the Bollywood dancing. So much fun and colour.

That sounds confusing, but you're right! Good morning Mariana:)

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Something interesting I learned today that I didn't know actually, New Zealand is the furthest you can get into the future before you go into the past.

message 9674: by Geoff (new)

Geoff Woodland | 313 comments Sorry Liam, but Samoa (Western) & Tonga are an hour ahead of NZ.
Currently it is 1030 am Wednesday in Sydney, 1230 pm in Auckland and 1.30 pm in Apia Western Samoa, and Nukualofa in Tonga.
Samoa used to be on the other side of the date line until Dec 2011 when it went from 29th Dec to 31st Dec missing out Dec 30 completely. The dateline was moved so that Samoa is now in the same 'day' as NZ & Australia - it is all to do with trade :-o)

Been this afternoon.... went to see George RR Martin and had my 2 lovely hard copy books of GOT signed. My daughter also got her books signed by all the actors present ... she still needs Lena Headey to sign her page though. I'm sure you'll have a great time if you go... lots happening

I agree... I go to author signings whenever I can. Kate Forsyth is great. I went to see her at BWF one year. I'm sure her writing course would have been fascinating.
