Keep up the great work Ashleigh :)
I wouldn't worry about it Catherine. If there's one thing I've learned in this life it's that you're bound to offend someone at some time and it's easiest just to go with your own conscience :)Also I must apologise for my long absence - I've had so much stuff going on it's been crazy. Hopefully I'm almost out of the drama and life will be back on track soon :)

Congratulations Ashleigh, that is amazing! You are very talented:)

No, as Tracey says, there's always someone out there who will jump up and down...it's almost as if it's their goal in life - to upset as many people as they can!

I took yesterday off to spend the day with my sister Cynthia and two of my nieces, J and Kimmi along with the ever so delightful Miss Talli. She's only just turned 1 but is already as big as a 2yo - she's not overweight in any way, just very tall and growing very strong. I so love kids at this age when they're starting to walk and talk and show their little personalities. So much joy, I feel incredibly blessed to have this wonderful little great-niece :)**sorry, just had to brag a little ;)

Little ones are such a delight Tracey! We will see our twin grandsons who are 2yrs old, and their brother who is 4 on our holiday, and we are really looking forward to it. Our 3 year old twin girls and 7 yo brother we see regularly:)

Do you watch Broadchurch on ABC on Friday nights? Mr Tennant stars with his best Scots accent but it is such an English show. Delightful.

Michael wrote: "No your both wrong the best Doctor Who was Tom Baker. :D"I have to agree with you Michael. I was a huge fan of Dr Who growing up and it was Tom Baker that was in all the episodes I watched in my teens. It's just not the same for me watching it now without him.
Dale wrote: "We had that wild wind yesterday, Bette. But today from my study window it looks calm."I've been out for a walk on the sand and the wind practically blew me over. Also a bit scary in the early dawn. Came home with my hair standing straight up:)

I saw the first episode but unfortunately I missed the next few, so I am waiting for it to come out on DVD and David Tennant is even better with his proper Scots accent :)
& Michael I agree that Tom Baker is the best of the older Doctors, actually he is the only one of the older ones that I can remember
Wow, I've been busy and haven't been on Goodreads for almost a week and I've got about 10 threads that are full of unread comments!! How they mount up!

Well, just got back to the hotel in Wagga. I've been watching our daughter and cast perform in Hairspray. It was fabulous - amazingly professional, and great vocals and dancing from a talented cast. The audience was going off :)

Downloaded and am watching Wishbone. Oh god I used to love this when I was a kid. So much nostalgia!

My daughter was in Grease a few weeks ago at her school, she wants to be a dancer/dance teacher.Maybe you can give us some information. Looking at uni etc for next year.

She's always enjoyed performing in musicals at school, and figured that music can always be enjoyed wherever you are.
She was part of "The Ensemble" - basically the chorus, but they were the ones providing all the backing vocals in three, four and five part harmony for every song.
As a sideline, she also assisted the costume people by making about fifty decorative bows - her sideline at uni is making hair accessories - here's a link to her facebook page (proud parent plug) Wattle Bird Accessories :)

No, it doesn't take long, and I'm afraid that I just skimmed through some of the threads in order to catch up!
Unpacked another two packing boxes of books this morning. Lots of books I had forgotten I had read. My read count is about to go up again:)
Just finished signing up and creating an account with Amazon Kindle. Not such a big deal for most you I know. But for a dummy like me it was. Then I discover you need a credit card to purchase any items which I don't have :(
But someone told me I can get one at the post office I will have to look into that next. But not today I've had to much excitement for one day.Time for a cuppa and read I think :)

Sharon I admire you for not having a credit card, they can be very dangerous at times.
I haven’t heard about the credit card from the post office but I do know that you can get a debit card from the bank, it works like a credit card but the funds are being deducted from your account.

Yes I can thank my mother for not having a credit card Mish. She said if you haven't got enough money you go without it.
Thanks for telling me about the debit card I will have to look into that at my bank. If they had Pay Pal it would've been better as my hubby has that.

So true what your mother said but it is very hard to get around with out a credit card these days as everyone is asking for it :(
That's why I think the debit card is good thing because it's using the fund you HAVE. Yeah Pay Pal would have been great.
Good luck Sharon.
Sharon, as Mish said, apply for a debit card...it will work just like a credit card but with your own money and no fees :)
I've got tell someone
Having just returned from an overseas trip it was the ending of a perfect month to find author copies of my novel sitting on the doorstep under its new title Triangle Trade. I originally self published as Ice King after 35 knock backs by publishing houses & agents. Out of the blue Pen and Sword (a well know UK publisher) under their imprint Claymore Press, picked my novel to republish with the new title of Triangle Trade. It was finally released on the 03rd July as a hardback edition, the day I left for the overseas trip. Some sellers have it listed as a paperback, which is incorrect. The dream of every self published author has come true for me.

That's fantastic news Geoff. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!

I've not seen Breaking Bad but it's interesting that The Wire and Breaking Bad seem to always get paired together.
