Yes, the mind boggles - the biggest worry would be needing to find a letterbox big enough to hold the monthly statements :D

I spent it before I posted so I wouldn't sound greedy....but now the same country, after offering such a big lottery has just has one of it's worst tornados ever...crazy world we live in.
Oh god yes please. Also I could buy books over and over until I got series with matching spines...Oh god money can't cure OCD
Liam wrote: "Oh god money can't cure OCD"No, but you can spend YEARS making sure that all of the banknotes and coins are perfectly aligned and stacked ...
Who said there was anything wrong with OCD? lol If anyone is OCD around here it would have to be me - with me it's about hanging clothes on the line. I have three different coloured pegs, blue, pink and white. Now if my clothes are done correctly all the blues pegs are used first [that usually takes care of shirts/blouses/skirts/pants], then all the pink pegs are used next [this covers my HUGE collection of PJ's, nighties, camisoles etc] then finally use the white pegs for, well, the unmentionables lol.I'm actually not even joking about that. I'm so super compulsive about my clothes being hung out the 'right' way that I've actually re-hung them if someone has done it for me but got it wrong - no one ever even offers to help any more.... I wonder why? :)
Oh and I forgot to add that everything has to be on certain lines and of similar size and nature - i.e. don't hang a skirt next to a T-shirt - I could have a heart attack lol It's terribly sad :)

I feel I need to drive you insane with something that makes me very upset
Michael wrote: "I feel I need to drive you insane with something that makes me very upset"Oh god I would flip ALL of the tables. I'll take some pics at I get home of some other offenders.
Also my cat gave me a lesson in sedentary lifestyle when I sat reading for too long with a pillow on my lap.

I was pinned for three hours, and my back is now killing me. I shall never read again.

I made a thread dedicated to book-related OCD and my reading, head on over there if you want to get angry with me.Also my work pants are all covered in cat hairs now.
They are wonderfully up themselves. Mine's getting on now, I'm going to be devastated when she's gone. :C
My kitten Dax [who is btw becoming a very big boy] loves sleeping on my lap which is fine if I'm just watching TV but can be very annoying if trying to read. I usually read from my Tablet and Dax seems to think this foreign object is in some manner offensive to him so he's constantly trying to get between me and the tablet or trying to push it away - it's kinda cute for about 5 seconds and then it's just annoying :) I have finally managed to teach him that he cannot sit on my lap when I'm working and that my desk is totally off limits! Gotta love 'em though :)
Sammy (my avatar) had to be put down on Christmas day two years ago. It was possibly the saddest Xmas ever! Haven't managed to want another cat since. Maybe one day.
I'm having lunch tomorrow with Jenn J. McLeod, Annie Seaton and as yet unpublished author Elle Fynllay:)

I believe animals do play an important role in our lives. I think it's all that unconditional love and I'm sure many humans could learn a few lessons from our furry friends - like unconditional love, forgiveness, teachability and how important affection is to others. At least those are the lessons I've learned from my dearly loved fur babies over the years - or should say tried to learn.

I'll send thought cuddles to you!!! X
That is amazing, Michael! How must the lady have felt when she realised that she was mentioned (and that the diary should have been hers, by rights)? And how sad that the soldiers last request was ignored or refused... Or maybe no one read through the diary fully...
I think it's nice that they gave her a copy of it, and that it'll be kept in the museum to be seen by everyone.
That was beautiful Michael. How wonderful for her to have found out after all those years how much love he felt for her although it is sad that no one thought to fulfil his last wishes and give her the diary in the first place. Life is a funny thing sometimes
I have to share: writer's block is well and truly over! :) it went for over 4 months, and just this afternoon I was inspired and wrote 9438 words. Just a little bit happy with myself lol
Man, I wish I could write like that. For someone who wants to write for a living some day, I am awful at it. :P I need to be a very specific mood to write, and generally after about an hour I'll write something that my brain is like "No that's stupid" and I'll sulk and quit. GO TEAM.
It was a pretty good effort, considering I've not written for months lol - and then all the inspiration comes at once! :D
Just under 9,500 words in one flash of inspiration, Amber! That's great. Keep it up.And Liam, don't worry about stuff you think is "stupid". It is, like everything else, part of the stream of creation. Don't wait for inspiration. Just write. Anything that comes into your mind. Good luck!
Ashleigh wrote: "True Ian but sometimes when I am working on something specific the wrong stuff comes out which can ruin the tone of the piece!"Yeah, can happen. But I have always thought it was better to have some words in front of me - even "Now is time for all good men to come to the aid of the party" - rather than staring at a blank sheet of paper or computer screen! :-)
Ashleigh wrote: "True Ian but sometimes when I am working on something specific the wrong stuff comes out which can ruin the tone of the piece!"I know what you mean - am almost at the end of draft one of Book Two, but got distracted by a short story idea today. Had to write it before the idea vanished, and didn't write the end of Book 2...
I've been so all over the place with my writing this year it's dreadful. I know I've been sick, now going through a separation/divorce and had a lot of other 'life' stuff thrown at me but it's still very disappointing how little I've actually managed to write. I think I'm on a better track now but I've already lost so much time my writing schedule has been thrown completely out the window. Still I do try and write every day - even if it is junk I later throw away :)
