I must admit, I did miss it. :) I'm back to connect with everyone. :-D which is great!
Better Saturday night than that! Went to see Oblivion with Tom Cruise. Very entertaining if a bit confusing! Then dinner at a local restaurant - veal in lemon sauce with vegetables - plus a bottle of white wine between two! Now coffee, a few minutes of TV and bed with a good book. Ain't life grand!

In Sydney the weather has slipped into real Autumn mode, beautiful bright sunny days and cool nights. Perfect.

When I couldn't get on I checked the Goodreads Facebook page. They had an apology up there plus lots of complaints from Goodreads users!!!

The weather here in South Brisbane seems to be settling into a pattern - not one I'm fond of though. We've been getting lots of cloudy and/or rainy days, chilly nights [I like those] but otherwise pretty bleak and dismal. In other news one of my kittens, Gypsy the chocolate brown girl, has been missing now for two days straight. I've called the RSPCA to check if she'd been picked up by them but no luck so far. I've also got all the neighbourhood kids on the look out for her and offered them a small reward if they find her. I took to the streets myself last night but didn't even catch a glimpse of her. My biggest fear is that someone has snatched her; Manx cats are not only expensive but rare and Gypsy was a particularly pretty kitten. Either that or she may have gone into heat early but either way I'm just praying I can find her or she comes home. It's so distressing, I love my animals like family - well they are family. Keep your fingers crossed for me please.

Hope she turns up safe and sound!

Lot of complaints huh? Ouch! They would be working to get things back to normal. It's worth the wait at times. Always have a sigh of relief when I can get back on lol.

Still no sign of Gypsy myself although the boy who lives next door says he did see her this morning on his way to school and tried to catch her but she ran off. I so hope he was right as that may mean she's just in heat and will soon come home. Still checking with the pound everyday but no luck. I'm counting on the fact that Manx cats generally don't stray unless they're a female in heat - they go out till they're impregnated and then come home. Even though I wasn't intending to breed her I'm still hoping that's the answer to her sudden disappearance. Even Dax, her brother, has been crying for her. :(

Sounds like good reading... :) I need to get back into reading. Haven't been doing much of that lately.
I, too haven't been reading as much as I normally do this year. Trying to finish the novel and do my Masters seem to be taking up all my valuable reading time. I did recently finish a vampire novel by a new author named Emma Jean Hoffman
I thought it was absolutely fantastic - by far the best vampire novel I've read since Dracula but not really for the sparkly, falling in love with humans type of novel :)
Oh and I saw Gypsy this morning at the letterbox but when I tried to grab her she bolted - guess she is in heat after all. Naughty girl ;) But, at least that means there's a good chance she'll be home soon and most likely pregnant - NOT what I intended but I'd rather that than have her just disappear.

The sights they see. :-)

That's good news Tracey! A flighty little one by the sounds of it;)

I just want to take the time to say how sorry I am for the people of the Boston Marathon.. What was meant to be a day of running the people were running for their lives.
It is so sad and devastating to see the aftermath of the pictures and destruction.
Sadly... it will just keep continuing.
My heartfelt best wishes, thoughts and deepest prayers are with them.
R.I.P to the ones who died in the explosion..
and be strong to the ones who are trying to make it.. you have love and support behind you.
You're right Liz, it's a tragic event and all the more for the whole of Boston and for peace. It makes you wonder what is in the minds of these 'people' who have to kill and maim for their own satisfaction!

It is something that should never me.. its beyond repair.. It is forever a battle for the people that has witness this, as well as been apart of something so horrific.. and losing love ones.. The sadness is unbearable for these people.
It makes me sad to think we walk amongst these "people" that can do this to others..
It's beyond comprehending.
Michael wrote: "These are the most dangerous people of all. One's with no conscious at all to were they can kill many for there own twisted beliefs. Nothing can justify bombing innocent people nothing."Nothing can justify it.. I am just dreading the devastation on what can happen at Margaret Thatcher's funeral tomorrow :-/
More devastation will happen unfortunately. Getting charged and imprisoned just isn't good enough.
Just hope people don't use this to victimise innocent muslims though. They are not to blame. Let's stop the hatred - not perpetuate it.
We just had a lovely Muslim lady on our national news (here in NZ) talking about it and she was as upset about the bombs as the rest of us, but also worried about the inevitable backlash on innocent Muslims.
Personally, I detest any extreme religious nuttiness. Throughout the history of the world it has caused so much bloodshed and Christians are far from innocent. They're in no position to judge other religions. I just want us all to start concerning ourselves worldwide less with which church we go to and more with things that matter like the environment we live in. I'm not Muslim by the way, nor am I a practising Christian (though I was brought up that way) - just a person who sees herself as a spiritual person who cares about the beautiful planet we all live on and need to start caring for as it has cared for us for so many millennia.
It was horrible to wake up and see the news this morning. And then tucked away in the news today was a tiny article on multiple bombings in Iraq in advance of the elections - fifty deaths - so terribly sad. I ended up writing a blog post http://leonierogers.wordpress.com/201...
