We've cooled down here with some lovely rain. Unfortunately I feel too exhausted to really enjoy it. I'm still slowly making my way back to health from the iron deficiency and spent yesterday from 5AM till 3AM at the hospital with Robbie as he underwent his surgery. I was so tired in fact that when I was waiting for him in recovery I actually fell asleep and he woke me up lolGlad you had a great holiday Ashleigh - can't wait to see the pics :)

Oh Tracey, you poor things...bad enough with one of you unwell, without both of you, and at the same time! Hope Robbie recovers quickly and you return to good health quickly as well...

I dropped my tablet this morning. Now it is not working, thus I don't have access to my ebooks. GrrRrrrr! =(
Looks like the northwest of WA's about to take a nasty beating from TC Rusty - Red alert already in Hedland, and the cyclone won't even cross the coast until tomorrow - predicted category 4 plus storm surge. The radar and satellite show an amazingly defined eye. We lived in the Pilbara up until ten years ago, and went through quite a number of cyclones. Given the speed of Rusty and the destructive wind gust radius, it looks like a long, nasty next 24-48 hours.
Stay safe if you're up there! (And indoors!)
Yes, it sounds nasty Leonie...the wind speed sounds like it will be catastrophic! Poor things, I wouldn't like to be there!
Rain glorious rain, it came pouring down this morning, it has now gone and it is really hot again. I am sorry for those of you who are having all sorts of nasty weather, however, the rain was lovely. It is crazy how many different weather patterns we can have in one country. Hope everyone is safe, whichever you are experiencing.
My thoughts are also with anyone in Rusty's path. And you're so right Faye - this country has incredible diversity weather wise. Flooding in the north of QLD with bushfires in the Southern states and now a TC in WA. Just praying all my friends online and IRL will be safe wherever they are :)

Bit worried at the moment as Robbie seems to be in more pain than I would have expected. He's trying to rest now but if he's no better in the next few hours I'm definitely taking him back to the hospital. Surely morphine should be holding his pain better than this? His temp is a little high and his pulse seems higher than normal to me but he's being pig-headed and wants to wait and see how he feels in a while. Very stressful.
Call an ambulance Tracey, or take him back to the hospital! It's not worth the risk with his health.....good luck:)

I remember having considerable pain aggravated by movement shortly after surgery. Best to be safe and get advice.

No, no flares thank god! however they had a security breach for Blink182 and way to many people where in the mosh, and lots of them under 18, saw quite a few bloody noses and crying girls.
I had an amazing time though, was well worth all my injuries!

You know, showing my age here, but I couldn't think of anything worse than going somewhere knowing I was going to be beaten up, bashed, injured, and possibly killed, all for the sake of a few hours **enjoyment**;P lol

it takes a select few to enjoy it ahaha, I have many friends who prefer sitting out of the mosh and just watching. I guess I just like getting to whole package. my poor mother hates soundwave day, she called me today to check on my injuries, she almost cried when I came home with a cracked rib last year. she puts up with a lot :)

Adelaide is meant to be one of the best soundwaves as Aj gets to pick all staff on the day, every other state has staff that come with the grounds, which means alot of the time security is horrible and no one sticks to the agreed max prices for food and drink
gosh after more than 2 weeks of not reading at all and pretty much only reading one book in feb im back on it :) i was having withdrawals badly but just too much going on.... latest news is i got my cert 2 in community services, first aid cert and im pregnant :)i know you already know Brenda :P ive decided im going to be using modern cloth nappies :)
Welcome back to the world of reading Katie;) Congratulations on your two certificates, and of course, your pregnancy!!! Well done! And great on the nappies too...that was all we had when my kids were small, and of course were much cheaper than todays throw-away ones, but boy, the washing!!! lol
Congratulations Katie :) Wonderful news to hear of a new little life coming into the world :) And on rejoining the world of reading ;) I don't think I'd survive two days let alone two weeks lolI did send for an ambulance for Robbie not long after my last post and was extremely glad I did. It turned out his wounds had become infected and somehow he also managed to contract pneumonia. Needless to say he's been at the hospital being pumped full of I.V. antibiotics etc but the docs say he should be fine to come home tomorrow. It's been a stressful few days and now I have several weeks of caring for him as he heals in front of me but at least he'll be home. Just praying now that it is smooth sailing from here on.

Oh Tracey, that's a terrible worry! So glad you called the ambulance. Better to be safe is so true. Best wishes to you both, with a speedy recovery to Robbie:) And hope your health is improving as well.

Congrats on all your goods news, wow I am impressed on going with cloth nappies, I used them for my kidlets, it just needs organisation, thats the key. My reading dropped off after I had my kids, for a while, however, you will get back to it and I made up for lost time.
Yes, I didn't read for about six years or more...just wasn't the time or the inclination when you have little ones but, yes, it comes back with a vengence.
Thanks all for your prayers and good wishes. Robbie is now safe and sound at home and despite being very stiff and sore is feeling better all the time. The antibiotics are doing their job and I've got him doing some light exercises between resting. As stressful as it is caring for someone, especially when my own health is so iffy, I'm just thrilled to have him home :)

Thanks Brenda and Dale, we actually managed a short walk around the complex where we live this morning. I thought it would be good to get him some fresh air after being cooped up for so long - now, of course, he's 'resting' but it looks a lot like watching TV to me :)

Thanks all - I don't really mind about the TV, I know it's probably good for him but he can tend to be a bit of a couch potato if I let him lolI go in for my next infusion tomorrow morning. Part of me is looking forward to it - I'm exhausted all the time so I know I need the pick me up - but part of me is a bit nervous. I'm really hoping I don't suffer the same side effects as last time. Right now I really can't afford the time to be that sick. **Shrugs** have to wait and see I guess.

Hope your body doesn't react as badly this time, Tracey... You're a Brisbaneite, aren't you? Do you have to go to the RBH for them?
This year's batch of home made tomato sauce done:)
I have lots of tomatoes left, so will make another batch over the weekend:)
