I'm in other challenges that have either minimum word counts or reading level requirements for Middle Grade books, so wanted to be safe rather than sorry!

ok, DUMB question-- AND i did not see this asked already BUT if book 1 and maybe book 2 of a series is on a list, can we safely assume book 3/ the rest of the series is too or do we need to look thru the gazillion books to make sure??

(learning to look for specific books on these lists is going to take some time for me, i tried reading the instructions and it hasn't clicked yet)

You need to check every book, often odd books in a series aren't on the lists. Its very frustrating.

If you know the book title, go to the book page and click on the genres more link, then the show all link and it will take you to the top shelves. Then its just a matter of checking to see if the book is on the list.

there is a main character in this book named Mortis, would that work for may day or does the book have to be from one of the lists that we used for the first week??

Hi PrinzessBookDragon. Sorry, first and foremost, that book doesn't qualify because it's only 197 pages. All books used for the game must be a minimum of 200 pages.

Each week a new shelf is announced. The rules for that week's book choice apply to that week's book choice only. So, those in the first week no longer apply.

This week's book must fit these 3 qualifiers:
book released in May of any year -OR- character, title or series name contains "May" -OR- author first or last name begins with M or D.

Yes, that works great. Sorry if my wording was a bit confusing - I was trying to exclude covers with men or man + woman, etc.
