Find books with the following colors from a 48 pack of Crayola Crayons on the cover:

Apricot
Black
Blue
Blue Green
Blue Violet
Brown
Burnt Sienna
Cadet Blue
Carnation Pink
Cerulean
Chestnut
Cornflower
Dandelion
Goldenrod
Granny Smith Apple
Gray
Green
Green Yellow
Indigo
Lavender
Macaroni & Cheese
Mahogany
Mauvelous
Melon
Olive Green
Orange
Peach
Purple Mountains Majesty
Raw Sienna
Red
Red Orange
Red Violet
Salmon
Scarlet
Sea Green
Sky Blue
Sepia
Spring Green
Tan
Timberwolf
Tumbleweed
Violet (Purple)
Violet Red
White
Wisteria
Yellow
Yellow Green
Yellow Orange

Here's a chart of all of the colors. These will be a little subjective and sometimes the shade on the book is different than the photo so don't stress too much over how perfect it is. It should be pretty darn close though. Also, the color just has to be on the cover, even if it's only present in small amounts.

Also, I think this was a 48 pack from back in the day. today's colors are probably different, but I didn't have crayons with me when I set this up. I used the Crayola site instead.

Fixed. I'm not alphabetizing anything else though. I forgot Orange and had to go through and renumber every thing all over again.

I think I'm going to just go out and buy a box of crayons and hold my books up to them. =)

Why do they always have to retire my favorite colors?

So, I got my box of crayons and they're different form what the web site says. I'm going to change my colors to the box so it's easier for me. Starzee, don't worry, you can keep your colors the same.

message 18: by Starzee (new)

Starzee | 106 comments Yeah I think it would be easier if I kept to the colours I have. Mind you, haven't been reading much. I've been concentrating on my writing at the moment.

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 532 comments Mod
No problem. I just found it easier for me to have the colors in front of me. Although, most are the same colors with different names. At least, that's what it looks like.
There's a lot of ugly colors in a box of 48. I guess they're trying to add multiple options for skin tones, but I never draw people so I don't use apricot, peach, mahogany, tan... I tend to only use blues, greens and purples, but that's because they're my favorites.

message 20: by Starzee (new)

Starzee | 106 comments Okay I need someone to specify for me: Am I going by the background colour, or if a persons face takes up 90% of the cover do I determine the book cover colour to be the colour of the persons face or do I go by the tiny bit of background colour?

e.g: Skinned (Skinned, #1) by Robin Wasserman Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6) by Richelle Mead

What colours would these be?

message 21: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 532 comments Mod
The color just has to be enough that it's visible in the tiny picture. So you could use black, whatever shade of green, the bluish background or the faces. It just depends on how hard you want to make it on yourself.

message 22: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 532 comments Mod
When did the box of crayons become filled with browns? Where did teal and all the bright colors go? I think they're just trying to get more skin tones included, but I do miss teal.

message 23: by Starzee (new)

Starzee | 106 comments I'm struggling with this lol. I need the colours in front of me to compare the books to =(

message 24: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 532 comments Mod
You all laughed at me, but that's why I went and bought a box of crayons to put in front of my computer.

message 25: by Starzee (new)

Starzee | 106 comments LOL yes, well now I see the joke's on me =D Maybe I'll run out to buy a box haha

I keep forgetting to update this one so I went through my "read" list and spent a lot of time coloring on little scraps of paper and holding the pieces up to the screen. It would have been humorous if someone had been there to watch me.

message 27: by Starzee (new)

Starzee | 106 comments Lol. Hey, whatever works. I haven't been able to update this at all. But I'll try soon

haha I just had to laugh at at the macaroni & cheese one. They are getting creative with the names I see lol.

message 31: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 532 comments Mod
Kids don't get the fancy names so they've simplified everything and then made some kid friendly.

message 32: by Starzee (new)

Starzee | 106 comments Lol, I don't know why they bother. All kids care about is being able to use them, not identify them by colour name. Hell, I'm 21 and I care more about using them than identifying that exact shade of pink or yellow.

message 33: by Heather (new)

Heather T (horrorvacui000) | 532 comments Mod
Ya, I know. Apparently teachers were the ones who cared and wrote in to have some of the names changed.
