Sarah Louise (keytan) force to read: Poisonwood bible by Kingsglover
Wont lie, hated it. I had to read it for english class which can kill even the best of books because you have to pull them apart so much that you almost miss the story. Poisonwood was probably the worst book I read all of highschool, it was so depressing, and so preachy (even though the father was a preacher the 'god aspect' was really just over emphasized). Basically it just felt like the plot just moved from one horrible event to the next. Nothing happened unless it was the family being crapped on. I wouldn't rec this book to anyone. I mean AANYYONE

Amna (bookish2929) | 4 comments Summer of the Swans it was just too boring it dragged on too much. it tried too be dramatic and indepth but it just wasn't any of these things.

message 53: by Kim (new)

Kim I was forced to read several books in school, most of them I liked. The few I didn't were "A Brave New World", "The Scarlet Letter", and "The Old Man and The Sea". The last I believe was just because I was too young and it went over my head.
