Well, I have found myself reading since the time I remember. During my childhood days I read whatever I can find in my School Library or in Newspapers but it is during my Post Graduation final year i.e. 2012 that I started reading Fictions/Novels and if I remember correctly my first One was The Doomsday Conspiracy by Sidney Sheldon. After that its no turning back and since then on I have read more than 100 Books. Some Finished some still unfinished.
I started reading when I was 8-9 years old :):) My first book was a HUGEE (At that time :P) book of fairytales in Hindi which I absolutely adored :D:D
I still have it somewhere safe :D
My first English book (which was NOT a book filled with pictures more and texts less :P) could be said as Robinson Crusoe I think :)
I had found about the story through an excerpt of it in my English Literature Reader of 5th std. :) It's been a favourite since then :)
Actually my first book was Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig but I just couldn't get into it despite attempting a few times. The first book that I read from start to finish is Dollar Bahu by Sudha Murthy which I really enjoyed. My second book was The Long Road Home by Danielle Steel. I enjoyed that too. I was 15 years old then. However, I no longer read Danielle Steel and Sudha Murthy.

I was 8 when I first was enlightened to the world of nancy drew mysteries.Love for the books has always been something very close to my heart and when everyone else went to parties I sat my the fireplace with adventures of Nancy drew and hardy boys.
Nostalgic!!!!
I've started reading book at the age of 26, and the first book that I read was "When only love remains" by Durjoy Dutta & I quite liked it. I happened to go through a break up and the person whom I love happen to love reading novels & was suggested to read the same and I did. Post which I read "Half Girlfriend" by Chetan Bhagat which is a Good book to read. I don't know much about books and as I have done my entire education in Vernacular school my English may not be as good as some of you out there, so please don't mind if I've written something and it come across in a wrong way! Would really appreciate if you guys can suggest some really good books too :) Thank you for reading this and have a lovely day ahead!
I started reading when I was pretty young( don't remember the age though) but I started reading SERIOUSLY a couple of couple of ago, when I was in 8th standard I borrowed this book called The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson. The book germinated this literature-lover-book -worm inside me and here I am, a book loving nerd:p
My first book was Rusty by Ruskin Bond,I must have been 8 or 9. It was delightful, captivating, enchanting and made me fall in love with books. It is a love affair that has lasted!!!
I started reading when I was 7-8. My first book was a Champak that my bought for me mainly to get me to shut up. That very day i read all the gokulam, chandamama I could find. Within the week, i started with Enid Blyton...
What I can recall is me reading the rabbit and tortoise story book set which was a 5th birthday gift from my mother.Over the time I only read books during summer vacations where we were given an Enid blyton book to write synopsis on.
3 years back I became an avid reader.I read Revolution 2020 by Chetan Bhagat which was a graduation gift from my school.
P.S Just realised my first books were gifted to me. :)
My mom says I started reading at the age of 4 and my first book was English alphabets with pictures. Lol.. And actually for novels it was when I turned 20 I started to read because of my boss. He wanted me to speak about being a professional and I was given " The professional" to prepare based on it. And actual book which interested me in reading was " I too had a love story" at age of 21 and since then I am addicted to reading and currently have read more than 100 books in over 1 year..
At the age of 6, the first book i read was Tom Sawyer. Read a lot of Amar Chitra Kathas, Diamond Comics, Tinkle and every book that was available in the 1-cupboard library of my area in Bombay. Still have memories of sorting thru second-hand book-vendors for something readable. Borrowed Bibles (both old and new testaments) from a Christian friend, Ramayana from my own home when i couldnt find anything else.At the age of 10, shifted to Surat and the greatest thing about the city was the large-Narmad Library.
I really started reading at the age of 11. But before that i used to read a lot of storybooks, mostly moral stories for children and Indian tales. At 11, i started reading middle-grade and YA books which really got me into reading.
The earliest books i remember reading are Barbie, abridged copies of Jane eyre and Robinson Crusoe and Panchtantra
I started reading novels since I was 13 or maybe 12 and my first novel was Dracula and I absolutely loved it.
I was 6-7 years when I started reading and I think it was Tin Tin and Asterix and Obelix .. Then moved on to Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys pretty quickly
Exact age is not remember but I was of 10-12 yr old and read all the stories of panchtantra, & some Gujarati books.
i started when i was in fifth grade(i guess), but those were majorly short stories only,my first novel however was in 8th grade , a modest enid blyton
I started reading book in recent times and i m jus loving it..although i used to read earlier but a few rom com books only :)
As far as I remember, I started reading at the age of 5-6,mostly books like Noddy and short Indian fables.I started with the 'St.Clare's'series by Enid Blyton and 'Goosebumps' series by R.L.Stine when I was 9-10.
I started at 9 with the mystery of the hidden necklace. I was hooked to it. Then there was no looking back. I treaded into the young age category with Amish's immortals of meluha.
Hello there I am new here! Nit technically though cause I had this account few years back but never used it. probably because I was too small.Earliestmemories of my book reading started from the Disney princess book when I was 9/10 years. Then I started reading goosebumps and later on Meg Cabot books. But somehow along the way I stopped reading.
But now I am back!
Perhaps 4 or 5. I began with Amar Chitra Kathas and would have continued with them, had not my teacher told me comics didn't count as reading :-)
Bhamini, that was the earlier opinion. Nowadays they say anything counts as long as it kindles the fire of reading. :)
been reading since a child , but it become a habit only from 2006, Da vinci code made stick to books
i started reading at the age of 7-8. my first book was Panchtantra (a short story collection). my first serious book was Oliver Twist at the age of 10.
I started reading when i was 7 or 8, the book that indroduced me to the joy of reading was a hindi book titled "13 Anupam kahaniyan". I've lost my copy of it and i don't remember the author's name. have been trying to track it down, please care to reply if any of you would have read it. There were some stories i was really fond of :)

Don't remember exactly when I started. I guess I was 5 or 6 yrs old...used to read panchatantra, akbar birbal, vikram betal... my first novel was Godan by Premchand. I loved the book so much that I started reading novels from that day...must be 10 yr old at that time.
It was so long ago, I don't really remember. But my parents had bought a collection of world-wide fairy tales, illustrated, so along with Cinderella and Snow White, my favorite story in those for volumes was called "The City of Elephants" (which was actually the title of the first chapter and was labeled "Indian tales")... so along with the aforementioned princesses (and NOT the Dysney version of them!) I learned about Arjuna, Judhistira and Bhima... and only 30 or 40 years later did I realize it was the abridged version of the Mahabarata (I know the spelling is wrong, forgive me, I have problems with h-placements!)! :)You can read more of this on my blog post https://creativebarbwire.wordpress.co...
with more of my youthful readings that introduced me to India at a very early age, along with an old TV series! :)
