I thought it was good. Sort of early Jen Lancaster just not as snarky. It helped inspire me to start working out again that's for sure! You really get let it on her life to the point where I want to re-read the books I've tried of hers knowing where her life experiences she's gone through. I think it made a fan out of me!

Finished Hard Eight by Janet Evanovich (good book, but didn't seem to be as exciting as her previous books) for the Quantifiers task, and The One That I Want by Allison Winn Scotch for the Title Relay task but still haven't completed a whole task :(TOTIW was a quick read, read it in like 2 days, and it was an enjoyable book. I look forward to reading more by Scotch (I have Time of my Life slated for a task).
I just realized something too... Her book, TOTIW is from the song in Grease, and I wonder if TOML is from Dirty Dancing?)

What was so horrible about it???
Ashley - EVERYTHING!My computer keeps freezing (damn outdated internet) or else I'd put up my review. The author tried SO HARD to be profound and thought provoking that she sacrificed the story. The book was split up into 3 parts and it didn't get a plot line until somewhere towards the end of part 2 and the ending was so predictable it almost was laughable.
My main source of frustration. Story is going on la la la then POOF 3 SUPER EXTRA LONG paragraphs about one single thought the main character has. And the thought would revolve around something like hunger. What does it really mean to be hungry? Should she be more or less hungry because she is merely a secretary?
No seriously - the whole book was like this. If it wasn't for the challenge I would have burned it a long time ago.

Yikes! I hate when authors are overly descriptive. Explain and describe enough to me so I can get a picture of what's going on, but I'm not stupid either. It's always nice to get book recommendations, but sometimes even nicer to know which ones to avoid. Thank you :)

HAHAHAHA! You just made me choke on my salad Stacy!!! *shudders* I had blocked the chaw chaw from my mind as best as I can! Surprisingly it was worse than Amanda's Wedding. At least there was a story presented early on in AW that spurred us to read on and on. Not so much with this piece of dog doo-doo.
5.10: The Love Goddess’ Cooking School by Melissa Senate30/325
And a little bit of shameless self-promotion (but it's ok, because Melissa's the original RDI author, right??): I have two giveaway copies of The Love Goddess' Cooking School along with a post from Melissa about her favorite recipe from the book. The giveaway is open to all US residents and ends 11/20. I really enjoyed the book, so even if you don't want to try to win it, you should read it.

I apologize in advance if I forget to post this on Fridays going forward. I'll try to remember to post during the weekends at some point.
Things have gotten, well.....iffy (for lack of a better word) at work. I'm trying to get out of there (as in, trying to get a new job) as quickly as I can so I'm no longer keeping anything personal on that computer and I'll be doing this from home.

Better late than never, ladies. I got one in at the last minute of October :-)10.5 Squirrel seeks Chipmunk, David Sedaris
Alicia Total Points: 10
Side note I started the Pretty Little Liars last month, for those of you love YA lit it got addicting quick!
I also took a walk through Borders yesterday to help me get back into the reading mood, I will try to go full speed ahead until I go into labor :-)
SO after regrouping this weekend, I have found that I did not read the same preposition for that task - I will be taking away 15 points until I finish that task and will be moving one book to another category - sorry!

Task Completed:25.1 Word Relay: Models Don't Eat Chocolate Cookies by Erin Dionne, Eat Pray Love Elizabeth Gilbert, LoveHampton by Sherri Rifkin
50/325 points
11/42 books
I read the first 2 in October: Models was ok, it was a YA read and cute but not my favorite as it's hard to relate to someone over 10 years younger than myself; EPL was a good read and though I can't apply what she learned specifically, the general idea of what she was trying to accomplish was inspiring; and I just finished the last one: LoveHampton was a fun read and kept me engaged. I was hoping it would end the way it did and would definitely recommend it!
Can I just say I'm so glad I've been sticking with this challenge? I've finally begun clearing out my TBR stacks! Granted I've only made a tiny dent, but I've had to start somewhere. Thanks Stacy for putting this together for us!
Glad you like it Kourtney, I've made a small dent in my TBR list....unfortunately not in my stack of books as most (if not all) of the ones I've read for the challenege have been from the library. :)

LOL, that's what happens to me. I figure I've got all the time in the world to read the ones I own. :)

You would think I would be knocking out books since I have no job anymore but that's not the case. I haven't ready anything at all this week.....what is happening to me? LOL!
Task Completed:15.5 Quantifiers: Hard Eight by Janet Evanovich and Have a Little Faith by Mitch Albom

**I listened to both of these. You can't go wrong with a Stephanie Plum book and HALF was another great read by Albom, his books always make you think.

All great books! My fave of the three was definitely the Kyra Davis and I was a little disapointed with the Nanny book but it picked up about 2/3rds in...and I agree with Ashley, Stephanie Plum is always good entertaininment:) I might just go right into the third one!
