The Tennis Party? I found it on amazon for a few dollars and bought it. Couldn't find it on my library site, or for download.

15.1 Name's the Same: Mini Shopaholic (Sophie Kinsella) and The Wedding Girl (Madeleine Wickham)
Really enjoyed both of them and I worry that the next book I read will pale in comparison

I read it awhile ago. I really enjoyed it. I was shocked at the ending.

No, sorry, I meant The Wedding Girl.

I read The Gatecrasher and was not really a fan. I am a HUGE Sophie Kinsella fan and they were touting that book as a "if you love Sophie you will love The Gatecrasher!" Compared to the light "Shopaholic" tones Sophie writes with, this one was much darker and the ending left me with a why-did-I-waste-my-time-reading-that feeling. After reading The Wedding Girl I am more inclined to try A Desirable Residence.

I tried to read The Gatecrasher and just couldn't get past page 40. I've read Cocktails for Three, didn't really care for it, but I got through it. I started The Wedding Girl a while back and I have it on my list to read because I would like to finish it. What I had read at the time was good.

Twenties Girl is my absolute favorite non-shopaholic SK book! I cannot go on enough about that book!
I have The Wedding Girl on my list as well. I used to get weekly emails with the first couple of chapters of a book and that was one of them. I read every single excerpt and liked it. I just haven't gotten the book yet to finish it. I'm on the wait list at my library, hopefully I'll get it before the end of the challenge. :)

Thanks for ideas!! I've gotten thru the Wedding Girl and Sleeping Arrnagments - it was a little easier to listen to - but being used to SK's lightnesss, it was difficult to get into them but I wonder if I go into them expecting the dark humor, maybe I'll like them more - I don't know - they are different that's fior sure:)

Damsel UndER Stress by Shanna Swendson

That's ok, it really only matters at the end. My post is #36 (I think!) that lists all my books and which ones I've read (strikethrough) if that helps! :)

You liked The Gatecrasher, huh? I tried to read that one, I really tried. By page 40 I wanted to poke my eyes out with a fork. :)

I listened to it, which I think makes a big difference. PLus it was the third MW book I'd listend to so I was pretty prepared for it being a little dark and alittle off - my one complaint about all her books though are the endings...I feel like they always end and I'm wondering and then what?? Like there's not much of a climax or resolution to her books...I dont' know...
I really liked Fleur's character in the Gatecrasher...I found it more interesting than the Wedding Girl or Sleeping Arrnagements.
I'm going to try Cocktails for Three at some point...but I only have the book so I'll finally see how different it is to read it..

I really liked it. But it did take a bit to get into it. The open made it seem like the focus would be on some airhead, rich girl; turns out that while Kathleen is a bit of an airhead, the rich girls are her sisters. And the story is pretty equally divided between Kathleen and her friends, Lucy and Sari; which is good since I liked them much better.

Ok good, that gives me enough to go on that I still want to read it then. :) Thanks Nicole!

Does anyone know of any good books whose main character's name is Lily? That's the name I got for the name generator task and I don't think I'm going to read the one I have listed for that task.

I didn't even try to find a book with a main character's name matching Suzanne (the name generated for me), I used the author option instead... Looking on this site helped see only Chick Lit authors: http://www.chicklitclub.com/authorsa....

I just did a google search for "Lily chick lit" and got:
Do They Wear High Heels In Heaven? by Erica Orloff
She's All That (Spa Girls by Kristen Billerbeck (or any Spa Girls series)
Consider Lily: A Novel by Anne Dayton
Pictures of Lily by Paige Toon
The Only Way is Up by Carole Matthews
But I only googled them...didn't read any so I'm not much help in knowing if theyr'e any "good"...some look good based on theri brief descriptions and covers:)

Wow, impressive Cathy! :)

haha..I'm a total Google dork! though it didnt' help me any...I ended up finding a Rowena that liked chick lit and made a top ten reading lists so i used one of those....but if anyone knows a Rowena book...pass it on!
LOL, thanks Cathy! I didn't even think about Googling it! :)
I've already read High Heels, and Pictures of Lily is the one I have listed. The other two in between those never sounded good to me but I'm a huge Carole Matthews fan. I wonder if that one is available in the US yet. I'll have to look it up.
Ashley, I'll have to check out your suggestion too, thank you! I can't think of any chick lit authors named Lily off the top of my head...

Lily Brett comes to mind.... Seems like I had her on my TR list, but I can't remember if she's chick lit or not.

Pretty in Plaid: A Life, a Witch, and a Wardrobe, or, the Wonder Years Before the Condescending, Egomanical, Self-Centered Smart-Ass Phase by Jen Lancaster
According to her website (www.jennsylvania.com), Jen Lancaster was born in November.
Loved this book -- this lady is hilarious! I highly recommend the audiobook versions of these if you like audiobooks, because the narrator is really good. I had fun listening to this one on my drives to/from preschool!
