Doctor Blake Mysteries is consistently good. The first series of Round the Twist was excellent. Unfortunately, Australian television and film don't make much (if anything) in my favoured genres. My favourite all-time program is/was Firefly and we just don;t do things like that. Aside from Round the Twist, our sf and fantasy tends to be downbeat and dystopian. Firefly wasn't a laugh a minute, but it had a genuinely warm heart and the characters were wonderfully written and cast.

Any Outlander fans??They have posted a trailer for Season 2 on facebook :)

@Zoey They're covering the Battle of Culloden and then J & Claire's race to France in Season 2, aren't they? It's good the see the scenes come alive; I've enjoyed Season 1 but the books still win, hands down, in my estimation.
Season 2 is supposed to cover all of Dragonfly in Amber how they will do that in 13 episodes I dont know as lots happens in that book, but cant wait to see.You are right the books will always win but I think they did a really good job bringing it to the screen & sticking fairly closely to the books. Especially compared to a lot of books to movies out there :)
Finally finished off Revenge..Truly happy the show has ended...Couldn't keep going.Started a show that only lived one season- The Chicago Code.
I was given a years sub to Netflix for Christmas so I've been going through that looking what is on offer. I'm not the biggest movie watcher in the world but i think this will help rather than needing to rent them from a store!Quite a few aussie shows on here :) Shame it's a bit behind though unlike the US version.
I'm watching 'The Fall' on BBC first on Fox, this is a very very good psychological thriller. Very riveting (⊙_☉) I panicked when we moved house because we had to get a new Foxtel box and I lost all my recordings...fortunately I was up to date :)

I've been engrossed in the cooking show "The Great British Menu" this year the top British chefs are competing to cook for the Queen's 90th birthday banquet. Now I am sure it has already happened but I don't the winners so really enjoying it.
How has this thread been inactive for so long D: Lots of great films out this year it seems. Dunkirk is excellent, as is It Comes At Night and Get Out. Okja, on Netflix, is great as well.
Dunkirk was probably one of the most intense [and loudest] experiences I've had at a movie theatre. I loved every second of it.
