Yeah, give it another shot. Liz read it a second time just now. (I mean, I guess she started it on Friday and finished it up yesterday... she's a pretty quick reader...) She was with you before saying that it was a little slower than Hunger Games - but she said it was a lot better this time.
Mockingjay is worth it too. I didn't think it dragged at all.
