Gee, let me go reference my copy of it on my e-reader, and I'll tell you the exact pages in which Katniss says that all she could do was sit in her house in the Victor's Village and stare at the wall because she didn't have anything else to do without Prim.
Since I'm on an e-reader instead of reading the actual book, I might be off by a page. It depends on what size font I have it on. o_oPages...
~252-253: Dream sequence
~254: Grief
~275-276: Reference to Prim and her mother not being in the house anymore (knitting)
~276-277: Reference to having a dream about everyone who's died, which would include Prim
~277-278: Peeta's primrose bushes
~279-281: THIS MADE ME CRY. Go look it up NOW. It's Buttercup.
So. Proof enough of Katniss' depression?
OMG OMG OMG I JUST FINISHED.
And I literally bawled the entire last 50 pages. Well, on and off. By the time I got to the last page, I sort of passed out for a second from taking too many deep breaths. And then I cried some more and reread the last part and cried even more. o.o So, yeah. I think Mockingjay totally pwned The Book Thief on making me cry.
I know you guys didn't, but I personally loved the ending. Or at least liked it, a lot. Is that because I'm Team Peeta? Probably. But Katniss DID chose Peeta over Gale! It says it right before the epilogue! (*cough* "You love me. Real or not real?" "Real.") Even though Gale leaving was totally out of character, he DID tell Peeta that he thought Katniss would chose Peeta over him if Peeta, you know, stopped randomly trying to strangle her. He knew he didn't have a chance. And this book has made me much, much more Team Peeta. (Because of many reasons I'll probably state later.)
The only thing that bothered me about the ending was that they said nothing about the government, and what happened after Katniss went back to District 12. Plus, what happened at her trial. I'm assuming they formed a republic, like they said before? And everyone lived happily ever after?
And Katniss... I kind of hated/loved her in this book. Like, I totally cussed her out (softly) when she voted for having another Hunger Games (I mean, what the hell?!?!), but then I cheered her on when she shot Coin instead of Snow. Maybe it's because I just read the book two weeks ago, but I was totally seeing Animal Farm happening all over again, and Mockingjay ending with Coin becoming the new President Snow, with no one to stop her from turning the districts into exactly what they were like before the revolution. DD:
And yeah. People died too fast. For Finnick, it was like a paragraph. And then Katniss hardly mentions him until the end. I mean, I can understand Boggs and the others, because nobody cares about them. But it's FINNICK. The sugar cube one. The one who comforted Katniss in District 13. The one who freaking saved her life in the Hunger Games. The one who has a son that will never see his father (Harry Potter, anyone? XD). He deserves more than a paragraph!
And CINNA. Even though they tell us he's dead in the first chapter or something, I kept expecting him to pop up randomly. POOR, POOR CINNA.
And PRIM. DDD:
So, there were some parts of the book I didn't like, and some parts that I liked... but I really did like the ending. It was, I think, the perfect length, and told us what happened to Katniss, but left many things for us to guess at. Which I don't think is necessarily a bad thing. But I can tell why people didn't like this book. And those people are... THE GALE LOVERS.
Well, mostly. And understandably. I would hate the ending too, if I didn't COMPLETELY HATE Gale. :D
"But there are much worse games to play." EPIC.

Also. The part when Katniss and Peeta reunited totally made me laugh. After I was done being shocked, of course. But picture it...
Katniss: *running in slow motion* PEEEETTAAAA! :DD
Peeta: KATNISSSSS! DIEEE! *strangles*
Katniss: ACKWHATTHEHECKITHOUGHTYOULOVEDMEFOREVERGURT.

HI KRISS!
I LOVED the last line. And the part where Katniss feels the key to Peeta's handcuffs knock against the pearl he gave her. Which, somehow, was completely genius of Collins to me. METAPHORS. 8D

COLLINS IS GENIUS. COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY GENIUS! All those little added touches and details that no one else would think of or notice- they're there!
... *patpat* I'm sorry.
But the only reason she didn't want children was because she didn't want to sacrifice them to the Hunger Games, right? So, with no Hunger Games, I think it's perfectly reasonable.

I love Peeta as well. But I just think the book was lacking in something. But I just don't know what. And I also agree that because there are no Games that Katniss would be okay with having kids.

I don't think Peeta could be cery seductive.
That happened to me the other day .__. although it was because a kid was complaining about a blister being painful. I threatened to describe to him numerous things more painful. He left.
Haha I love doing that to people!Whats also fun is telling people facts about how they could die doing something...my friend was about to do this dance thing and she was chewing gum and I told her that if she inhaled suddonly she would choke and die, and then she slowly took the gum out of her mouth and threw it away.
YES. I love doing that too Erica! AND EPIC STORY.
Hey, Kriss. You ARE being active. Just not in the RP!!

I think it's cuz we've been watching too many vocaloids. :\"
I agree completely.
Hey! I'm Matt! I run a roleplay group on GR as well and we're gonna do a HG roleplay... but it is no where near as organized as you guys. I'd love to take part in no.3 so when you start again I'm raring to give it a shot :)
Hello Matt! Welcome to the group. (And we're only neat and organized because of Jenn's random OCD.)
Every group needs an OCD... just to make it look nice... mines all jumbled up and everything :P ( Roleplay Madness is the name of mine )
Im messily orginized. To the untold eye, my room is messy, but I know where everything is. Or at least the general area...
Hellooo! I'm Rose. I love The Hunger Games. As you can tell. :)

Ok; besides that, when did she care?
