So I know the critics are totally ripping this movie up.. but I did enjoy it. The end kinda was the part that wasn't so great... but the beginning of the movie was entertaining. And I like the idea of a superhero who is a drunk! I think it is a good summer movie.. and yes it has it's bad parts but for the type of movie it's supposed to be, I still enjoyed it.

The comic Earth X--which basically unites all the disparate characters and elements of the Marvel universe into one, enormous story--has a really cool thing about a drunken superhero. Wolverine is pretty much constantly drinking in attempts to get drunk, but because one of his main powers is an accelerated healing rate, his body filters the alcohol before he can ever get as drunk as he wants to be. I remember thinking that was so cool when I first read it...and its kind of apropos of what you said about liking the idea of a superhero who's basically a drunk, so I figured I'd mention it.
I think most people hated the end of the movie. It was super lame but overall, it wasn't that bad. I liked Will and felt sorry for his character and I cracked up at the part where his ass was on fire. That was hilarious. The end, to me, just came out out of left field.
i liked it. I was entertained and didn't see the other one. The ending was less than stellar, but I thought it fit the movie
I was entertained. The twist in the movie was somewhat predictable but a decent concept overall. I agree that a better ending would have really improved the movie. I recommend Hancock, but don't expect a blockbuster the likes of Spiderman or Superman.
Possible spoiler:I think it may have been a little better if we had more back story? About the past. I like the twist and was glad there was no leak about it.
Saw it over the weekend as well. Actually, I thought it was decent enough. The big surprise seems a bit forced given the lack of any real explanation for Hancock's existence. So, ok, it's not a great movie, but compared to any number of others, it's a reasonable effort. Will remains fun to watch and it is a bit of a kick to see a movie about a down and out superhero, who gets dissed by one and all.
George, I totally agree with you about the movie. The supposed big surprise was pretty lame but I guess they really ran out of ideas.
