I hear this is a wonderful book. At least that's what a ton of reviews say. I read parts when I was younger, but stopped...
I couldn't get past the fact that the author interviewed my family about the real event this book is inspired by and then went ahead and used real full names and real locations to paint a picture so off the mark of what happened and what my family and town are actually like.
Is it really worth the read as a novel? Or should I just leave it?
