I really enjoyed the different narrators - and Madam Mina what a strong female character!

John Steinbeck's THE PEARL.
Great author, great book.
And SHORT!

Stephanie, I've also read The Pearl and thought it was great. I actually like it a lot more than some of the other Steinbeck novels.

Gave me a slightly different perspective of her other books in particular The mill on the floss.

But I liked it - and it's a fast read as well! :-)

A warning: Murakami can become an addiction. If you really liked Sputnik Sweetheart then be sure to check out Norwegian Wood.

Hehe, thanks for the warning - so far it's my second Murakami and I really like him. I have Wind up Bird Chronicle waiting on my shelf as well as After Dark and Norwegian Wood is high up on my 'want to buy'-list :-) Thanks for the recommendation!

Almost done with Atonement. Loving it!

- Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood (really great; I went to bed at 5 a.m.)

Not as action packed as I had expected. But otherwise a nice quick holiday read.

I've been working on books from one section of the list online. I enjoyed the first half, but the second half didn't really hold my attention.
