Enemy Women by Paulette Jiles. It's been on my shelf for several years. I'm finally getting to the last of the "before PBS" books. And still working on HP Book 7.
I'm reading Lover Unbound by J.R. Ward again because I always read the novel right before a new release in a series (if it's a keeper series which BDB is for me)so I can remember what I read months ago. Her books are packed with detail and it helps to have it in the old filing cabinet upstairs in my brain. lol
I finished the Bookseller of Kabul by Asne Seierstad last night. It was insightful and a bit heavy. I may have to find something really light to read next.
My goodness! I didn't realize I hadn't posted on here in a minute. I finished Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkabahn the last week of June which if my fave HP book so far. Also finished Mistress of the Sun by Sandra Gulland which was pretty good. In the early hours of this morning I finished Innocent Traitor: A Novel of Lady Jane Grey. This one I liked but it kept changing the point of view of which character was "talking" and I kept having to look back at the beginning of the chapter to figure it out. Now I am reading the Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell which is the BOM for the historical fiction forum and I'm reading Pillars of the Earth too.
I'm reading Blaze by Richard Bachman.
Others I am reading are:Bayou Blood brothers (Intrigue)
Alias Mommy (Intrigue, alomost done and will start a new Intrigue..I have several a friend donated to me and unless I burn out on them I want to read them back to back)
For her pleasure Maya Banks (Heat, romantica)
Dream Chaser Sherrilyn Kenyon (last one before the latest, yay!)
Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (audiobook)Finished audiobook 3rd Degree by James Patterson (don't like the reader but like the story)
I'm reading The Paper Doorway by Dean Koontz
Hi y'all... I've been a lurker here - forever. So here I go. A friend just suggested reading something by Janet Evanovich. I requested "One For the Money" from PBS. So far I've just read the first chapter and have already had a couple of giggle fits.I'm glad I'm just now discovering this author. Think I'll have fun catching up.
Mostly I read SciFi, but occasionally venture off into Robert B Parker or Robert Crais.
I'm happy to add Janet to the mix.
Hey Linda,I've read all of her books and they are always a lot of fun. I think it's good to read different genres like that.
I'm reading Travels by Michael Crichton.
Ya Ya's in Bloom by Rebecca Wells (audiobook)*Victory dance* Finished HP book 7!!
Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon
I,m reading The Husband by Dean Koontz
Finished: Left Behind, Novel 1 (audiobook)Blood Memory by Greg Iles (audiobook)
"real" books: Enemy Women by Paulette Jiles
The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon
I am so bummed. I got Pillars of the Earth from the library and I've been so busy that I haven't been able to read it in the last three weeks. Now I have to take it back to the library tomorrow and I can't renew it cuz its on hold for someone else. Guess I'll have to check it out at a later date. Not like I don't have 80+ books sitting on my shelf waiting to be read anyway. I just finished The Last Kingdom by Bernard Cornwell (I love his writing style) and now its time to finish Harry Potter 4.
I've finished Case of the One Eyed Witness (Perry Mason Mystery). Good fun! Today I finished off The Young Wan by Brendan O'Carroll. Agnes Browne fans will love it!I've got the "Girls Guide to Hunting and Fishing" by Melissa Banks; "Open Heart" by the Dalai Lama; and "Up the Amazon without a Paddle" by Doug Lansky going now.
I'm starting a book by Gene Stratton-Porter. She's a writer from the turn of the century and her writing style is right up my alley. Her books still get rave reviews and the first one I'm going to read is "The Keeper of the Bees". By looking at the first page I can tell it's going to be a good read...well we'll see! LOLHere's an editorial review from Amazon:
Book Description
1925. Stratton-Porter was an American feminist, environmentalist, photographer and one of Indiana's most famous female authors. Many of her writings were moralistic and romantic novels. Posthumously published, The Keeper of the Bees explores the feelings of the post-World War I generation. The protagonist is an injured soldier who finds his life again in helping others. See other titles by this author available from Kessinger Publishing.
I'm reading Odd Thomas by Dean Koontz
