I'm Marcia
I'm from Adelaide. I like to read all sorts but am not keen on sci fi. I am a member of a book club with friends which has introduced me to some books that I would other wise not have read which has been great!
I'm a Jane Austen fan. I like some classics here and there and also detective novels.
Recent books I've read include "Animal Farm", "Fahrenheit 451", a couple of short stories by G. K. Chesterton (Father Brown) and "Call the Mid Wife", Jasper Jones, The Cartographer, The Amber Amulet, A thousand splendid suns ........ to name a few.
Some times (unfortunately) I succumb to trashy romance novels. But mostly I prefer to read books that are not main stream and well written.

I'm Josh (twitter @OzNoir), as my twitter handle suggests, I tend to gravitate towards the darker spectrum of crime fiction.
I'm an avid reader (over 170 books in each of the past two years and look set to achieve that again).
My most recent Aussie crime reads/reviews are OUT OF EXILE by Luke Preston (Momentum, 2013) and GANGLAND NORTH SOUTH AND WEST by James Morton and Susanna Lobez - both of which offer something a little different (one is a fiction, the other true crime).
I review every book I read and blog at Just A Guy That Likes To Read and guest blog over at Fair Dinkum Crime.
I'm 30 and am based in Adelaide.

Welcome Josh, good to see you here as well

I'm Chris Foster and new to Good Reads.
Born and bred Aussie, I travel continuously and write books! Generally I write poetry and fantasy, as well as by request. Four of my books have been published so far, check them out if you want but no pressure!
There a so many beautiful things I enjoy, but recently watching some poets perform live was inspiring. It was as if they were bards from Shakespeare, acting out poems that lasted ten minutes. I hope one day I can perform as great as they do. Until then I'll continue to sit on my gym ball and write! Loving Good Reads, such a wonderful community!

My name is Tanya Thistleton and I am new to good reads, so very much feeling (browsing maybe a better term) my way around this site.
So as not to be put into a box, which people tend to do when you tell them what you do for a living, I will simply claim to be an Australian author (as well as a mother and wife).
As fellow authors can appreciate I was most excited when my novel Just and Equitable was published, yet much of this excitement has waned with the realisation how difficult marketing ones writing is.
I love reading, writing, hanging out at the beach with my family and riding horses.
Enjoying good reads great site. :)

Hi Tanya,
I certainly sympathize with you... the marketing/business side of writing sure takes the fun out of it!

I'm Alex, I'm an aspiring scriptwriter/director.
I've really enjoyed my time on GoodReads so far and hoping I can complete my 50 book challenge before the end of the year!!

I am Angela from Melbourne and have been on here for a little while without doing much apart from writing the occasional review.
I am keen to get more involved and I always want to know what other people are reading and what they are generally up to!
I love food (happy vegan!), reading, writing, yoga and generally being creative.
I have just finished rereading 'Animal Farm' and have started 'Lord of the Flies' though I am beginning to think I should have had a witty interim book in between!
How's everyone else doing?
