Welcome Kitty, it's lovely to have you with us:) Feel free to browse the threads...you'll find lots of recommendations throughout the group.

THank you for the warm welcome everyone. I have followed your advice Brenda and am shamelessly plugging myself and my work there right now.
Time to explore some of the other threads!
Janis.

Hi Brenda and Michael, thanks for that! I'll check them out. I hope I can get a copy, I'm dying to know what happens.

looking forward to getting to know you.
Joanne

Michael, you guys are a wealth of information. And I'm so glad I trawl these threads. I love Booko! Thanks for the heads up, even though you were replying to Rachel:)

Michael, you guys are a we..."
Oh my goodness - Booko! How did I never hear of that site before? What a find - thank you!

Thanks so much Michael. I don't know how it's been under my radar for so long! It's value to an author is also great, so you can see on one page all outlets and prices. I'm keeping that tab open! Thanks again : )

I've just joined goodreads to try and catalog all the books I have read over the years. I currently live in Melbourne but I am originally from America. I loved it so much here I decided to stay and haven't looked back. I will be moving to Ballarat soon and looking forward to the good clean air and finally having space for a library in my home. I read anything I can get my hands on particularly crime novels and the classics.
I hope to make some friends who I can discuss books with and who won't think I'm an absolute bore when I describe my exciting weekend filled with reading.

Hi Alison and welcome : )
Space for a library in your home sounds wonderful... and I don't think you'll find anyone here who thinks reading is boring! : )

I am very excited about the library it was one of my absolute requirements when we decided to build luckily my partner enjoys books as well So I didn't have to fuss much

That's one of my dreams, Alison - a 2-storey book-lined room with one of those gorgeous timber ladders that circles it!
Good luck with the building & enjoy looking around here : )

Brenda thank you for the Welcome .
These days libraries are a dying breed . You would not believe some of the responses I got about it being a waste of space . l blame e-readers
mind l have one: )

My name is Wendy and I live in sunny Sydney ( at least it is today). I love to read and write. In fact, I always thought that I was going to write children’s novels. Unfortunately, I didn’t get around to that until half a lifetime later. I have had two stories published, The Doolalley Kid and The Boy Who Disappeared. Most recently, I plunged into self publishing and my 3rd book ( and first self publishing effort) is Angel of Fire.
When not writing, I do love to read. All genres. It relaxes me. Oh I also love the TV!
Looking forward to get to know all of you better!

p.s How did you get to become a "Prolific Reader" with italics & exclamation marks no less :)
You have to be a moderator of the group to be able to add nicknames there:) You'll notice only Mish, the two Michaels and myself are the only ones with them;)

I have a blog at http://animaginativeworld.blogspot.co... that's I've just started.
I can't wait to start talking to all of you.

I've just check out your blog and it looks great! Well done and good luck with your writing - you can't help but be good at something you love! : )
