Nick G'day! I'm Nick from Perth! I'd be keen to meet other perth readers. I'm a FIFO worker so I get heaps of reading done when I'm travelling. I'd be keen to join a perth based book club if there is one about or if anyone wants to start one?

Jaymin Eve (jayeve) | 9 comments Hi everyone I'm Jaymin Eve from the Gold Coast. Avid reader (aren't we all), loving paranormal, fantasy, sci-fi and romance in fiction/YA/NA. I have a beautiful daughter and another on the way which keeps me very busy and I've recently published my first novel. Yes, I am finding it a little hard to squeeze reading time in, but I'm pretty sure I need it for my sanity :)

Would love some new reading recommendations, it has been too long since I've found that book/series that I just can't put down.

Welcome Jaymin, lovely to have you with us:) We have lots of threads which will recommend books to you in all genres, but I might just put the one I've just finished here (I know, I know, wrong thread!! lol) but it covers all your loves so Akropolis by Catherine McCallum and my review (which I added about 5 minutes ago!) http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Enjoy:)

Thank you for that recommendation Brenda. It sounds like something I definitely have to read. And I love Aussie authors (all authors really but have to support fellow Australians).

Thank you, Michael. I feel very welcome already. :) And pressing publish was the scariest, most exhilarating event, and so far I'm loving the journey. Maybe it is that I love to read so much, but being able to control my own story, had to stop myself from going a little power crazy there ;)

Rachael Hewison (rachhewison) | 14 comments Hi all. I wasn't sure where to ask this so I thought I'd add it to this discussion. I lived across in Australia for a year and read the first two 'Lunch with' books by Derek Hansen which were amazing and now I'm desperate to get my hands on the last two but I can't find them anywhere in the UK :( Is there any good Aussie websites or bookshops that would ship them across to me?

Lunch With A Soldier

message 4449: by Janis (new)

Janis Hill (janishill) Hi everyone and greetings from the Adelaide Hills. I'm an emerging author and avid reader... I'm trying to join different groups that interest me more as a reader than an author though. Basically, I read (and write) therefore I am and the more people I can chat to the more new books I can learn about to read.

I have random tastes in genres from YA/NA works through to a love of crime fiction from cosy crimes to historical whodunnits.

My favourite authors to read right now are Kim Harrison, Katie MacAlister, Mary-Janice Davidson, MC Beaton/ Marion Chesney... and that's just naming the few I am into this month. ;-)

As life can get in the road of me paying attention to everything on Goodreads, if I don't post often don't take it that I am lurking... more that I've forgotten to check the posts.

If you're interested in my author side, my blog is here: http://janishill.wordpress.com/

Nice meeting you in advance!

Janis.
