Welcome Darren, lovely to have you with us:) The main thing to remember with you being an author, is to do your promoting in the Author section, where you've started your new thread, and be a reader in the other threads:)

Imy♥♥ (crazykindleaddict) | 11 comments Hi all!

I joined GR a while back, and have been a member of this group for a little while. Just getting used to the whole thing I forgot to introduce myself.

My names Imogen, also known as Imy.
I'm an avid reader. LOVE my Kindle, maybe a bit too much. Born and bred in Adelaide, and as of a few years ago I now reside in Christchurch, New Zealand.(For the time being anyway). With my partner and 3 year old son.

Having a Kindle I religiously believe in Samples. Don't buy a book without reading the sample. That's my motto :)
Although I have come to realise they can be VERY deceiving. I also love reading and writing reviews!

Thanks for having me :)
Imy

Welcome (again) Cassie!

Lee at ReadWriteWish (leeatreadwritewish) | 322 comments Hey, I'm Lee. From Far North Qld. 2 primary school aged children leave me with less time for reading than I would like. Got into goodreads recently when I bought an ereader (I'm completely converted and love my kobo!). I have actually bought a few books from recs here and avoided others I had originally planned to read/buy. This is my first foray into a 'group'! :)

Jeanette Hornby (goodreadscomuser_jeanettehornby) | 107 comments Hi all,
Thought I'd stop by for a visit.
WA is experiencing lovely sunny days at the moment. Great winter weather here but I'm off to Melbourne in a couple of weeks. Do I need gloves?

Most definitely Jeanette!

message 4272: by Heather (new)

Heather | 388 comments Hi,
I'm an Aussie living in Singapore at the moment. I use an ereader - read mostly crime/thrillers. Was home recently and was surprised by how large the difference is what's promoted in Australia compared to here. Just started reading 6 Days, just finished Rip Tide by Stella Rimington. Thinking of reading for my movie book The Handmaid's tale.

6 Days, Rip Tide, The Handmaid's Tale

Welcome to Aussie Readers, it's lovely to have you with us Heather:) Feel free to browse the threads, and it's great to see you are going to join us in the July challenge:)

How long have you been in Singapore, Heather? Your ereader would be very handy over there, as it's not as easy to buy paper books, is it?

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Oh god, Singapore is my favourite place in the world. My dad lived there for most of my childhood, so I used to get to go there on holiday every couple of years. I keep meaning to go back there for a month or two.

Mish | 3601 comments Hi Heather, welcome to the group

message 4276: by Heather (new)

Heather | 388 comments I've been in Singapore for 18 months. Bookshops tend to be small - Times Square and MPH I've only heard of one independant. The only large seller is Kinokuniya but they can take a long time to sometimes to stock a book and they are expensive. But that could be a real estate thing as I did not find Kinokuniya expensive in Malaysia

Leisl Leighton | 2 comments Hi everyone.
My name is Leisl Leighton. I'm fairly new to Goodreads and was encouraged to join some groups and thought this one would be quite good - seems like a friendly bunch of book lovers. Just my type of people. I hope I'm yours too.

Welcome Heather. Lucky you living in Singapore. I'm living in London and don't find it that easy to find Australian authors, so Goodreads has been a real lifeline for me. Aussie Readers is a great community.

Liam || Books 'n Beards (madbird) Welcome Leisl!

message 4288: by KimReads (new)

KimReads Hi, I'm Piksie, over the years prettying travelled everywhere but settled in the UK. After hauling books all around the world and swearing that I couldn't possibly trade in 'the real thing' for an ereader, I succumbed a couple of years back and fell in love with the sheer convenience of it!! My ereader is now the first thing that gets packed whether I'm going out for a few hours or a few days! In fact just the other day I was stood in the checkout at the supermarket and the woman in front of me hauled her kindle out of her bag, so now there's even more places where I can read!

Welcome Piksie, lovely to have you with us:) And yes, the ereader is very convenient, that's for sure!

message 4290: by Amy (new)

Amy | 23 comments Liam I know!! Everytime I think of a book I have to rush to good reads to add it to my shelf! The only upside is that I refuse to add some of the books I used to read (out of mortifying embarrassment) so it makes for a quicker job! roflol

Lee at ReadWriteWish (leeatreadwritewish) | 322 comments I am slowly exploring the lists and adding books as I go. Sometimes it's difficult to rate them! I just usually remember either hating or loving them.
