I'm new this thread thing.
I've just bashed out an published my first book. Being an ebook Im hoping to get some publicity around it. Any tips on exposure greatly appreciated
I backpacked India and lived in the slums etc. I decided to write a fictional story based on some charators I met. And I have written about thier lives.
Im new to writing and loving it :-)Darren
PS: 2nd book is well under way. Hope to chat with you all soon
Welcome Darren, lovely to have you with us:) The main thing to remember with you being an author, is to do your promoting in the Author section, where you've started your new thread, and be a reader in the other threads:)
That's ok..perhaps you'd like to edit your above post, just to take out the book reference, that'd be great:) Have a browse around the different threads, you'll see lots to interest you as well:)

I joined GR a while back, and have been a member of this group for a little while. Just getting used to the whole thing I forgot to introduce myself.
My names Imogen, also known as Imy.
I'm an avid reader. LOVE my Kindle, maybe a bit too much. Born and bred in Adelaide, and as of a few years ago I now reside in Christchurch, New Zealand.(For the time being anyway). With my partner and 3 year old son.
Having a Kindle I religiously believe in Samples. Don't buy a book without reading the sample. That's my motto :)
Although I have come to realise they can be VERY deceiving. I also love reading and writing reviews!
Thanks for having me :)

Hi Imogen, welcome to the group.
Welcome Mathys, lovely to have you with us:) Feel free to browse the threads...I'm sure you'll find lots of new reading for you.

Thought I'd stop by for a visit.
WA is experiencing lovely sunny days at the moment. Great winter weather here but I'm off to Melbourne in a couple of weeks. Do I need gloves?

I'm an Aussie living in Singapore at the moment. I use an ereader - read mostly crime/thrillers. Was home recently and was surprised by how large the difference is what's promoted in Australia compared to here. Just started reading 6 Days, just finished Rip Tide by Stella Rimington. Thinking of reading for my movie book The Handmaid's tale.

Welcome to Aussie Readers, it's lovely to have you with us Heather:) Feel free to browse the threads, and it's great to see you are going to join us in the July challenge:)
How long have you been in Singapore, Heather? Your ereader would be very handy over there, as it's not as easy to buy paper books, is it?

My name is Leisl Leighton. I'm fairly new to Goodreads and was encouraged to join some groups and thought this one would be quite good - seems like a friendly bunch of book lovers. Just my type of people. I hope I'm yours too.
Welcome Leisl, lovely to have you with us:) Enjoy browsing the threads, I'm sure you'll find lots of new authors to read!

Welcome Heather. Lucky you living in Singapore. I'm living in London and don't find it that easy to find Australian authors, so Goodreads has been a real lifeline for me. Aussie Readers is a great community.

Welcome Amy, lovely to have you with us:) Goodreads does become an obsession, it's extremely addictive! lol

Welcome Piksie, lovely to have you with us:) And yes, the ereader is very convenient, that's for sure!
