Introduce yourselves!

I live in rural SA and am a parent to 3 children. I'm studying to become a librarian and am also writing my first verse novel. I hope to be published soon.

Another newbie here. I'm in rural NSW, also on a farm, and in the Monaro. I write general fiction (I know that's not very precise), and use the area as a setting.

I bought some books, and read many library books, however hubby bought me a Kindle and I am exploring the world of free books at present.
All the best,
Jan

My favourite Aussie writer is Nick Earls. I love his humour and that he can write about serious topics in a light and funny way.

Great name, Kathryn!! In 2 of my other groups there are new members also called Kathryn - it's a strange feeling, since this is normally a less common spelling. And welcome to the other new members also! :-)

I live in Port Stephens, about two and a half hours north of Sydney. I read a variety of genres and have too many favourite writers to name, but when thinking of Australian books, I especially loved The Thorn Birds and The Lovers' Roomby Stephen Carroll.
Welcome Sharon! Lovely to have you with us:) I live in the Newcastle area, and we visit Port Stephens often:) Beautiful place!

Where about south? I love the Wollongong area, but always thought it so very cold in winter.

I need an atlas LOL near Uludulla? - you know what I mean, I think...I also need an Australian spell checker.

I'll start by saying this is the first time I'm writing here, or in any group, for that matter! I don't really know how goodreads groups work, so please be patient with me if I do or say the wrong thing!
I'm a Melburnian, and have a few "real" jobs part time but my thing is art and creating, with my website (natashaburns.com) taking up a good chunk of my time. (Control freak who can't delegate!)
I am a slow reader. I love to savour a book and I tend to read in the time it would take to speak it. I also get distracted a lot, so I find myself re-reading passages constantly!
Over summer I get a fair bit of reading done ("fair bit" by my standards!!).
I don't like any particular genre, I just like to read what I find interesting at the time. It just needs to be a page-turner!
Thanks again and I'll go check out some other threads now :)
