Hi all, what a lovely group! My name is Christopher and I live in New South Wales. I used to be an "ads man" but writing is my true passion.

I love writing ( and reading) and was very lucky to be able to publish my first novel - Talon: A Jack Rawson Saga - recently.It allowed me to combine my passion and my love for animals - its a dream come true.

I've been around here for quite a while. I just drop in from time to time. But thanks for the welcome. Usually, I'm busy too writing. One novel to date, historical fiction, another, semi-autobiographical ... about a outback feud, between a Kadaicha Man and a police sergeant, so long ago, so many memories. Great place the north-west. The Selwyn range country. Wish I was there right now, sleeping in my swag in a dry creek bed ... fire going ... give me a home amongst the gum trees ..

I am currently writing an historical novel set in Japan and I must say, having living in Japan in 2010-11, I really have an appreciation for the things we often take for granted about our Australian way of life.

My favourite Aussie writer is Nick Earls. I love his humour and that he can write about serious topics in a light and funny way.

Hello, and thanks for accepting me into this group!
I'll start by saying this is the first time I'm writing here, or in any group, for that matter! I don't really know how goodreads groups work, so please be patient with me if I do or say the wrong thing!
I'm a Melburnian, and have a few "real" jobs part time but my thing is art and creating, with my website (natashaburns.com) taking up a good chunk of my time. (Control freak who can't delegate!)
I am a slow reader. I love to savour a book and I tend to read in the time it would take to speak it. I also get distracted a lot, so I find myself re-reading passages constantly!
Over summer I get a fair bit of reading done ("fair bit" by my standards!!).
I don't like any particular genre, I just like to read what I find interesting at the time. It just needs to be a page-turner!
Thanks again and I'll go check out some other threads now :)
