And again, a big welcome and thanks for your prompt understanding:) I also live in the Hunter Valley...and yes, it's extremely hot! Not looking forward to Tuesday, which they say will be mid 40s:(

If you'd like information about how to make your own thread for promotion of your work SE, just ask:)

Very nasty Michael:( Washing would only need to be outside for about 10 minutes!!

Brenda L (brendasm) Tnankyou for the warm welcomes. The Blue Mountains are a lovely place to be & couldn't wish for a nicer place to be even when it's hot. Learning very quickly to draw the curtains put on the aircon & blob out on the couch with a book.

J.E. Rogers (rogersjeanne) | 26 comments Hi! My name is Jeanne E. Rogers, and I have just completed my first fantasy for middle graders. It will become available on Amazon in the next two months or so. It is entitled The Sword of Demelza, and it is 'peopled' by animals, who embark on an adventure that will change their world. The animals are real, many endangered, most found only in Australia. My aim is to educate as well as entertain and to bring attention to endangered species. I do hope that it will interest your group! Thanks so much for your time.
Jeanne

Hi Jeanne and welcome to our group:)

Jeanne, please can you edit your post, and remove reference to your book as your post will easily get missed in such a busy thread...you need to make your own thread in the Author Spotlight section to promote your work.

Please read our Author guidelines: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1...

and head to the Author section, where you can do a lot with your work, and it will be noticed by all:) Thanks.

J.E. Rogers (rogersjeanne) | 26 comments Hello again to everyone. Brenda please forgive my ignorance in mentioning the book. I apologize, but I really don't know much about conducting myself here in this group. I joined because of my love for all things OZ, and I am anxious to make connections there. I couldn't find the author's spotlight, but I do thank you.

J.E. Rogers (rogersjeanne) | 26 comments Brenda, I also do not know how to edit my post. Getting older and less a bit technologically challenged.

In the bottom right hand corner of your own post, you will see it says 'reply/edit/delete', you click on 'edit' and it will bring up your original post so you can change whatever you want...then click on 'edit post' and you're done:) Thanks for fixing that Jeanne:)

Victoria Why did I only just find this group? I need to spend more time on G.Rs.
The name's Victoria, yup, just like the Queen.
I live in the Lockyer Valley, south-east Queensland, Australia. Kinda bush, but not quite.

I love reading, blogging, reviewing and supporting anything Aussie!

Someone needs to make a petition for the sequel of the Tomorrow series to be made into a movie!

message 3784: by Susanna (new)

Susanna Freymark Hello all,

This is my first discussion group I've joined on Goodreads but I figure being amongst people who love books . . . well, I couldn't be in a better place.

I'm a big fan of Aussie writers like Helen Garner, Melissa Lucashenko, Cate Kennedy, Gail Jones, and so on.

I am a journalist and writer and avid reader. And many of my favourite childhood books were by Aussie writers.

Looking forward to the conversation and sharing of books.

Susanna

Ayla | 2 comments Hi everyone,
Names Ayla :) I have no clue what on earth I am actually doing but I like books.
Esp classics and crime novels and historical novels and young adult novels and pie.
Haha if someone could point me in the right direction that would be splendid, because I keep clicking buttons and I'm not sure what half of this means!

Cheers,
Ayla (((:

message 3787: by Anne (new)

Anne Gracie (goodreadscomannegracie) Hi, I'm Anne Gracie, and I'm a writer as well as a reader. I live in Melbourne, but my books are set in Regency-era (early 1800's) England and Europe (and one was set in Egypt.) I'm published by Berkley USA and Penguin Australia, and my next book is coming out In February. I'm not sure whether I'm allowed to put my website in, so I won't.

Recently I've been reading a lot of fantasy, but also romance and some crime. I've been reading Juliet Marillier's backlist through most of the summer — love them — and I just discovered a new to me crime author, Elly Griffiths whose first book I read recently and really enjoyed. I've ordered the rest of her backlist. Currently I'm reading Susan Elizabeth Phillips, The Great Escape (and it's not about WW2 :))

joanne (cabeswaters) Hi, my name is Joanne but I go by Jojiwoji on Goodreads :). I attend Sydney Girls High School, and I mostly read YA, and occasionally children's books if I'm bored. Um... Anything else? I'm pretty good with Aussie authors of that kind of genre, but I love reading books set in and around where I live.
