I know, and I appreciate that, but if you go to the Authors section and make your own thread, then you can put a link to it in your post to Deborah, then she, and anyone else can have a look.

We have a lot of authors in our group JM, and if one seems to get away with it, others think they can too...it gets out of hand. We have to curtail our authors promoting their work, other than the Authors Spotlight, as we are predominantly a reading group. I hope you understand...

Jeff Bilman (jeff_bilman) | 4 comments Hi there,
I'm Jeff from Perth. I have two boys, two dogs, two chickens and one wife. I'm not yet working on a second. I also have one book for middle reader boys (and working on a second).
Nice to be here.

Head on over to our Author spotlight section, and make yourself a thread so we can check out your books... http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...

Elaine | 2001 comments Hi, I'm Elaine and I found this group thanks to Brenda. You are a busy girl aren't you? I live in Melbourne and when I'm not reading, which I seem to do most of the time, I look after my hubby and 3 kids, one cat and one bearded lizard. This seemed like a fun group that covers a huge variety of books and topics so I just had to join.

Thanks Brenda.Look forward to discovering more books and good reads and chatting to like minded people. Yes the lizard belongs to my 8 yr old but it's amazing how quickly the novelty wears off!!!Needless to say he won't be getting a puppy any time soon!!!

Haha! You don't want to look after a puppy as well as a cat and a lizard Elaine??? Why ever not? lol

Thanks Dale. I have a 20yr old and an 18yr old and neither one looks like they're even remotely close to leaving home so at this rate I'm thinking the pets might go first!!!

Haha! It does take them a long while to move out these days, doesn't it!!

message 3572: by Riley (new)

Riley Banks (rileybanks) | 14 comments Elaine - even when they do leave home, don't expect it to be permanent. My daughter has moved back twice. My poor parents - who are now in their 70s - are constantly being inundated with 'children' returning home, often with their own children underfoot. They never fully leave home.

message 3573: by Riley (new)

Riley Banks (rileybanks) | 14 comments Oh yeah, now my daughter wants to move back in and bring her boyfriend with her!

message 3574: by Brenda, Aussie Authors Queen (new)

Brenda | 80164 comments Mod
I guess we need to make it harder for them to move back...high rent!! lol (As if we'd do that to our kids, and don't they know it;))

I know Riley...I'm not really complaining.I'm sure I'll be devastated when they do finally move out. You make me laugh saying your daughter wants to move back with the boyfriend. I have a friend whose son and girlfriend are living at home with her and as neither of them work or pay board, she's basically supporting them!!!But as it is her only child she's happy to do it. Not sure about that.

Brenda I keep saying to the two older ones I'm going to charge them for living at home as they treat the place like a hotel but yes they know I'll never do it.

Jackmeister | 702 comments Hi People
I'm Jackie, I just joined this group today (Thankyou Brenda) and I've just finished entering all my books in, so now I'm up and running, so to speak. I'm in Adelaide and read as much as I can, mostly crime, thriller, mystery with some horror thrown in. I am currently reading Final Judgement by Joel Goldman it's number 5 in the Lou Mason Lawyer series and it's been a good series.
Cheers

Hi I'm Mona, I live in Adelaide, but have lived in other states. I was born in Melbourne, and have also lived in Brisbane and Sydney. I mainly read YA fantasy, as that's my favorite genre. As far as Australian authors go, I like Sara Douglass and I read a lot of Brian Caswell when I was younger. I just pick books that sound good, usually ones that I've heard about because they're popular. Thanks :)

Welcome Kerry, lovely to have you with us. If you head over to the Author Spotlight section, you can make your own thread to promote your work, and also get Mish to add you to the list of Aussie Authors:)

Leonie (leonierogers) | 3569 comments Hi, I'm also new to this group. I grew up in WA, and spent 16 years living in the Pilbara, but have now been in NSW for ten years. I've just had my first eBook published - and have just created a thread in the authors section of this group.

I enjoy reading just about anything, in printed or electronic form, but my favourite genres are Fantasy and Sci-fi.

Looking forward to participating here :)
