It is Karen. My daughter worked there for awhile (she's now at uni), and my hubby and I often go there to have a meal:)

message 3253: by Leigh (new)

Leigh K Cunningham I'm an Australian author currently living in Singapore...I always say 'currently' as if it is a temporary state but I've been here for 8+ years!

I'm originally from Rockhampton in Central QLD. We lived in Melbourne for 5 years and Sydney for 5 years. One day, we will return but no idea when or where...maybe the Sunshine Coast.

Welcome Leigh...it's lovely to have you with us:) You must enjoy Singapore, having been there for 8 years, but you're welcome back to Oz whenever you like;) Enjoy our group!

message 3255: by Leigh (new)

Leigh K Cunningham Thanks, Brenda! It's great that there are groups of Aussies here on Goodreads so that expats like myself can still get a sense of home.

Julie Bozza (juliebozza) | 4 comments G'day, all! My name is Julie Bozza, and I'm an Australian currently living in England. I'm loving England for all kinds of reasons - but I love Australia, too, always keep a jar of Vegemite in the fridge, and I never miss a Pete Murray gig in London! :-)

I am a writer with four books published so far, all of which have been set in America. However, on 1 August my first Australia-based novel will be released. I'm pretty excited about that. :-D I never suspected how much fun it would be to write something in which I could use the word 'drongo'.

Anyway! I'm looking forward to being a part of this group, and maintaining my virtual relationship with home.

The novel is called Butterfly Hunter. It isn't on Goodreads yet, but you can find it on the publisher's website here: http://www.manifoldpress.co.uk/2012/0...

Warning: It is intended only for those over 18! ;-)

Heather Josephine Pue (heatherjosephinepue) | 8 comments Hello all, I'm a Canadian who is headed to Launceston on a working holiday visa this coming September. My dad did a lot of work in Australia when I was growing up and, as a result, we did a few extended holidays there (Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle) and as a teenager I pretty much exclusively read Australian books. This will be my first time back in Aus in 9 years, so my favourite aussie authors are still the YA ones, but I look forward to discovering some more mature aussie fiction when I get over there.

Zanesh Catkin (zaneshcatkin) | 23 comments Hi all

While I began life as a Yankee through no fault of mine, I moved to Australia as a teen and have lived here for yonks. And I am a dual national with my heart on my Australian sleeve.

I love reading, and I have just published my first novel. Literally, it was launched last Friday.

Pangamonium by Zanesh Catkin

I'll post more about that in the appropriate section of these posts.

Cheers
Zanesh Catkin

hi all again... I've returned after an extended break from the threads. Life took over and I hadn't the time to keep up with all replies :(
Hopefully this stay will be permanent.
