Introduce yourselves!

I haven't ever been part of a book club type thing before, but thought I would try via the interwebs to start with.
I am currently undergoing chemotherapy for Hodgkins, and will be having a bone marrow transplant in the coming months so that will give me loads of reading time!
I have never written a review for a book, but i have been slowly going through and rating some that i have read previously. will work up to a review!
A very big welcome Sonja...lovely to have you with us! I wish you all the best with your health issues, and hopefully all will be well very soon. Feel free to chat any time you want...as Michael says, we are a friendly bunch!

Ohh, you bake desserts!!! What's your speciality?? Curious mind absolutely wants to know. :)

My name is Zoe I will be 19 in a week :) I live in Victoria. I am a Vet Nurse in training so you can pretty much guess I am an animal lover. I also used to do taekwondo where I was a black belt. I don't really have a favourite genre of books and it really depends on what mood I am in at the time.

Thanks Emily, always a nice surprise when a 'local'is found from the bag of people from around the globe.

Hi Brigitte, not sure of my speciality, but l do make a good choc self sauce pudding, tiramisu is one of my favourites, cheesecakes too, made a black forest cake for my dads birthday and l surprised myself how well it came out.......what are yours? :)

Tee wow, Black Forest Cake! Never tried that one. Hubby is a choc fan, so mousse au chocolat, brownies or american style cookies (with choc chips, nuts and cranberries) are quite the staple in this home.
We have different "baking chocolates" available, plain, with caramel, orange flavoured or with hazelnuts. It's not conventional, but hey, I love to adapt recipes. They are all great to use in a mousse.
Otherwise I love to use fruit in cakes. It's summer over here and it's lemon iced rhubarb cake, apricot cheese cake (not american style) or crumble at the moment. Soon we'll also have plums available. We love them in pancakes or oven tray bakes. Yummy...
Bon appétit. :)

I have been reading and writing since before primary school and am only NOW trying to make a career out of it. I should have started sooner, but you get that.
I am a freelance writer & copywriter, and a recently self-published author of a Steampunk Adventure story- The Girl From Out of Town. Find my profile etc if you want to see where to buy it from. T'was fun to write and is fun to read, I am told.
I have participated in Nanowrimo as 'Wonderdog' for 10 years and have compelted teh challenge each year I tried. It is what motivates me to write a novel every year and without it I would probably still be editing my first ever novel.
I look forwrad to getting to know people, writers, readers and Goodreads.
A big welcome Matthew...lovely to have you with us:)

That, and being a freelance copywriter, I get a bit of time during the day to write.

I'm 17 and living in Perth, I love to read and mostly read YA books and hate it when I finish an amazing book and realise I have to wait a whole year for the author to release the sequel (anyone else?)
I'm currently in my first year of uni doing a bachelor of science hoping to decide on a specific major by next year
Hopefully I'll find great book suggestions from people in this group and broaden my horizon :)
Welcome Zino! Lovely to have you with us:) Yes, I do that with my favourite authors...it's awful when you've got to wait soooo long for their next book!! Good luck with uni, hope you still manage time to read...all those assignments:(

Welcome to all the newbies here.
Lemon iced rhubarb cake sounds divine. I have a recipe at present for a rhubarb cake I have yet to try. need to convert it to gluten free.

Cheers,
Trace
