Good wishes with the bone marrow transplant. I work in Haem Onc here in Adelaide, so see lots of people go through it.

This is sooo true about Tasmania as well. It's so odd you talk to someone and then they end up knowing someone you know..you'd never expect it. Happened alot reccently with my family haha.

I see that in that time we've got 100 new members and Mandy and Gail have managed to recruit 3 new moderators. Welcome to everyone!

Hey Great to see you back Murray! Good to see someone's working hard.;) Whenever you get around to it could you put a link to your blog in our 'best aussie blogs' thread. We'd love to catch up on your news from time to time.:)

Welcome Katie, & believe me, a bare Dave is not a nice visual LOL!LOL!

Hi Maggi! Big welcome to the group

I'm looking forward to discussing books with other Aussies, especially classics and I'm going through a fantasy series phase at the moment so those too!
Jess

I have been reading for ever and can no more not read than I can not breath. My hubby is a reader, both our daughters are readers and both our grandsons are readers.
I read most genres but not westerns or huge doorstop books. Although I did read The Passage last year.
Ok so that's me!

Welcome newbies and Sally 906. Sally, interested you were brought up in Nigeria. Our writers group is small, in a very small town (pop. 1200) in country Queensland. And two of the members were born in England and have lived in Africa! Marion from South Africa, through Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) to Kenya until she was 15 and they went back to the U.K. (And left it for Oz 2 years later.)
Dave and a friend drove a mini through the Sahara Desert when he was about 26 then spent the next 20 years in Rhodesia. He left when Mugabe came to power.
Coincidence? It's rife in this town - there's a lady in the next street who went to school with me in another town almost 60 years ago!
Have a good time here, Sally, and everyone else new to GR.
Monya (aka Mary)

Hi Sarah. I've only been here for a day or so :)
Our daughter lives on the Gold Coast. When she was a child I could never get her to read. Now she is grown up with a toddler of her own you would think she had invented reading. LOL!
hey! sarah I'm very intelligent! and so very awesome!
hahaha and no you can not have any of my books :D

Yay another romance reader! Hope you enjoy Goodreads and our group Dianne.:)

Hi Patty Big welcome to the group!:)

Hi Dianne, welcome to Aussie Readers. I'm a mystery/suspense author and fan of many genres. If you like romance and suspense, I'm wondering if you've read The Time Traveller's Wife, this was one of my faves in 2010.

Hi Patty from another Sydneysider (well, kind of, I'm on the fringes, out Macarthur way). All the best with your s/f, fantasy writing.
