Hello. I'm Gena and just joined. From the threads it sounds like such a warm, fun loving group! I'm travelling to Australia in December, with Darwin, Perth, Adelaide, Alice Springs and east coast (cities tbd) on the itinerary. I'm off to read the State by State and get some ideas :)

Hello hello, it's nice to meet you all! I'm Caz, and I'm from Melbourne: born, raised, and often unexpectedly rained on. I've always loved reading, and have had a fascination with sci fi and fantasy since I was naught but a wee lass, but a few years back it all seemed to slip to the wayside. This past year, however, I've been making an effort to get back into it and expand my horizons a little, and I'm really ecstatic to have found such a nice community here on Goodreads!

My name is Ash and I live a short walk from the beach in a tourist town on the NSW coast. I found this group in an effort to be more social on Goodreads. I've loved reading and writing my whole life. I've spent the last two years getting back into reading after graduating from uni. The main genres I read and write are fantasy, sci fi, mystery and the odd bit of horror.
Actively participating in the site's reading challenge has definitely helped me get back into reading. After reading 62 books in 2017, I made the overconfident decision to aim 104 books for in 2018 (two books a week), which has kept me on toes.
Other then reading and writing, I like gaming (Open world, RPG, Sandbox and Simulation), listening to music/podcasts and beach/bush walking.

Welcome Ash! The GR reading challenge is a great motivation tool! This has to be the first year I've hit the 100 mark in all of my years of reading haha
Hello everyone :) Just joined haha.So I'm another Aussie with a penchant for reading. Ever since I was little I've loved books, but for several years I was stuck in a reading slump which I've only recently gotten out of - lately, I've been spending my free time just reading YA fantasy novels and afterwards attempting to translate my feelings into words by writing a couple of disjointed paragraphs and passing that off as a review. So now that my passion has been lit anew, I figured I would get more involved in the GR community :)

Well met everyone! Just joined today, and am quite eager to start using Goodreads a lot more for suggestions and the like. I've actually had an account for a number of years, but my digging was rather shallow, initially assuming it was only useful for checking ratings and looking for related titles. Mayhaps it's changed since I first looked at it, and it looks like a really useful tool for discussing whatever title is of interest. As such, I'm very interesting in getting involved in the discussion! I'm currently living in Sydney. My favourite bookstore is probably Kinokuniya or Galaxy books (Abbey's bookstore). I've not read heavily for pleasure for at least the last 2 years or so, but I'm recently graduated and have dived back into it.

Hello, my name is Carmen and I have had a goodreads account for a while but first time joining in discussions. Wish I could say I'm an avid reader, I'd like to be but admit I am a poor reader. But I figure it is a physical practise that gets better the more you do it. So that's what I am trying to do at the moment; read more physical books. I also like to listen to audible books when driving but I don't think it is quite the same as reading. I live in the bush in the Snowy Mountains NSW.I really like goodreads for seeing what's new, recommendations and also reviews. Reviews often help me learn, understand and get perspective on stories and writing that I otherwise wouldn't have known.
