You probably could read them out of order if you wanted to although you would miss out on the way the characters and their relationships develop along the way.

My name is Heather. I am not a native of Australia but was a student there in high school (a very long time ago). I stayed in Victoria in a small town called St. Arnaud
When I lived there, I experienced so many new things:
first time on an airplane (16 hours!)
traditional meat pies (I really need a recipe!)
saw the ocean for the first time in Adelaide
held a Koala
learned not to pet a kangaroo
climbed Ayres Rock
sheared a sheep
ate a rabbit (they said it was chicken!)
and learned to be afraid of spiders....eek!

Welcome to the group Heather 😊 Glad you enjoyed your time here..you'll have to return some day...
Hello! I'm new to the group and forgot to introduce myself before now woops! I live in South Australia and am looking forward to reading more books by Australian authors and chatting to everyone!
Have a lovely day! :)

Nice to meet you, Heather! Welcome!
I'm from the US, too!

I'm the other Owl here and they just call me Owl as I'm from the US.
Shall I call you Aussie Owl? Is that alright? 😊
Nice to meet you fellow feathered friend!

LOL!
I don't think it will be too difficult, Sally! When I tried to do the 'How TRUE BLUE Aussie are you?' questions and I failed miserably!
I wonderd if a thong was a rather personal question! Obviously, I had an abnormal number of feathers in my brain that day! We call them flip flops here in the US! *sigh* *blush* 😳
I did notice that Brenda took it off the list with the latest update of questions. Probably to save poor defenseless owls from embarrassing themselves! Thanks mate!
No doubt Aussie Owl will fare much better than this Owl did! And NO I won't be retaking the test! Once burned twice shy and all that!!

LOL Owl! I'm sure you'd do better second time around - you must subconsciously absorb a fair bit from reading Aussie authors!

I'm not up for that adventure again, Krystal! LOL
I can promise you that I've never hit a kangaroo, held a wombat, eaten Vegemite, or seen a shark or koala in the wild! Though it does sound exciting! If I ever get to OZ I look you up, Krystal! I'll be the one wearing thongs!

Great!! xx

Eh, em. Thanks Ryan! Very good to know!
Leave it to a man to clarify the correct terms for ladies lingerie!
LOL! I'm just joshen' you Ryan!

Oh yeah, very true, Jazzy! Obviously this is a tiny room in my brain that I don't use much! The dust must be two inches deep in there! LOL!

But they are also 'a thong' .... and thongs (plural) are flip flops. Ah, how our common language can fox us.

Too funny!"
I was discussing the nuances of language with my son today. He said, Would you like some coffee? I said, Alright.
He thought I said That's alright (which means 'no').
So Alright means yes, but That's Alright means no.
Meanwhile I wondered where the coffee was.
