The Three Musketeers is a brilliant book! Have you read more of Dumas' work? The Count of Monte Christo is one of my all time favourites.

Yesssss I'm so in love with his work!! Count of Monte Cristo is the first Dumas book I read, it's what made me pick up The Three Musketeers. I've read the entire D'Artagnan Romances collection (including the little-known The Son of Porthos: Or, the Death of Aramis), The Corsican Brothers, The Two Dianas (though I think my edition quit halfway through the story!) and The Women's War is on my July challenge list. I read anything of his I can get my hands on, plus now anything remotely related to him or his work. You could say I'm a little obsessed haha.

Deb Omnivorous Reader | 1929 comments He is a phenomenal writer and I find it odd that even though everyone 'knows of' him or his stories so few people have actually read his writing! It's great to find someone else who appreciates him.

I just had a peek at your bookshelf; you are definately a more dedicated devotee than I am: The Three Muskateers is probably my second favourite after Monte Christo, and I have read some of the other DiArtagnan, writings, not all. The black Tulip, I read years ago and really want to re-read, it was one of the first Dumas I found as an adult.

Anyhow, this discussion might well motivate me to go out and find more Dumas!

Trish L | 139 comments Hello, I have been a lurker on this group for some months now. Finally brave enough to introduce myself and hopefully participate. I live in Sydney and do most of my reading electronically these days.
My reading tastes are pretty general, however I do not read Paranormal, fantasy, scifi or dystopian novels. (But yes, I am a GOT fan :-) ) After going thru a long period of Indian and Chinese fiction, my current favourite genre is fictionalised/re-imagined biographies of historical figures or novels incorporating a real person from the past.
Last time I looked at my Goodreads profile it said I was not a member of any group ! But I am definitely signed up to this one!

Graham Wilson | 29 comments Thanks all for the welcome - based Brenda's advice I will remove the reference to my books for this introduction - I had put it in based on reading a few introductions by other authors on the page which gave introductory information about their books but I do understand some group members feel this is excessive self promotion so will take on board and remove

Trish L | 139 comments Thank you all for the warm welcome and offers of help with my profile pic. Decided the photo was not going to beat me and I have finally managed to upload a photo, by doing it via the main desktop PC. For some strange reason my android tablet will not recognise that I am a member of this group.... no I am not using the app, just browsing the GR site in the normal way. Modern Technology! It can drive you to insanity.
