I wasn't trying to hijack or anything Gail, just kept seeing a lot of Brissie people - hope I didn't cross the line?

It doesn't bother me Tracey, it's a Queensland thing. I am happy to have you fight it out amongst yourselves. :)

It's a great idea Tracey - why don't we adjourn to the Queensland thread to see who's interested and arrange a time/place. http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/4...

I'm an aussie girl--love to read--particularly crime thrillers, horror and fantasy.

I've been on Goodreads for a while, but I'm not often active in groups. It's nice to meet everyone!

Tony Sacre Hi Mandy,
Sorry I have not been around awhile, you were kind enough to befreinded me a while ago just when I joined but I got in a mess getting used to things and also got very busy. So thought I'd try again and pick up the pieces and find out what goes on here.I could do with a bit of help navigating.
I have had another ebook published since then and am currently writing another with Sirroco who edits me at www.clublighthousepublishing.com

message 768: by [deleted user] (new)

Welcome back Tony. :D

message 769: by Tony (new)

Tony Sacre Hi Gail
ThanXs for the call, please forgive me if it was you that helped me out last time I do recall your name now! Hope I can get my act together this time...;D

message 770: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't think I was that much help in the end. There are a couple of other people here that might be more successful if you get stuck. :)

message 777: by Iris (new)

Iris Blobel (iris-b) | 127 comments Hi everyone ... My name is Iris and I live an hour west of Melbourne. Originally I come from Germany but have been here now for a while.

I've been on goodreads for a while now leaving my "2 cents" about books i've read, but only recently have had the time to look through the site in more detail ... AND that's how I found the Aussie readers. I look forward to reading your posts though with two little ones, a job, being on the hunt for a publisher for my second book and a radio show - time is not a luxury in our household, but I wouldn't like to have it any other way.

So - thanks to everyone for having me here :-)

message 778: by [deleted user] (new)

Welcome to the group Iris. Join in if and when you can. :D

message 779: by [deleted user] (new)

G'day Iris, what radio show do you do, I was ABC far norths 'poet laureate' for a while & had a every Wednesday morning segment as guest presenter of a topical poem I wrote through the week (well 4 days really)

Richard Me. Sydney. Civil Service. Waistcoat. Beard. Two kids. Cask Wine. Beach.

Read a great deal, currenly on a throw away Dennis Lehane novel (great crime writing) and just finished Seven Types of Ambiguity by Eliot Perlman which was half a great book and half a burst balloon

Not sure what's up next. I keep considering A Suitable Boy but......

Welcome to the group Sandyboy.

I loved A Suitable Boy, but I know others who found it a bit of a challenge. Just the size of it is a bit daugnting. I found it well worth the challenge.

Jan (auntyjan) Welcome Simon, I'm from Perth too. Why not scroll down all the discussions till you come to the state by state roundup(near the bottom) and say hello on the WA thread. I'm trying to encourage West Aussies to pop in there...the more the merrier. This invitation also holds true for all those West Aussies who joined before we started our own spot, as well as any newbies! And anyone may pop in and say hi...we're a friendly bunch.
