Hi I have just joined the group. So thought I would pop by and say Hi there to you all. I am an Aussie author and mother of three grown children. I also love to paint and draw. Looking forward to chatting with you. I think it is wonderful that there is a thread like this. I hope you all have a great day and remember to always smile and be happy.

Thank you to all who have welcomed me to the group. I hope your day has been sunny and bright. The sun shone here in Maffra for awhile today so got to do a bit of gardening. I also started a new art project and of course did some more work on my next novel. Lovely to meet you all.

I'm Wolfrott; 28, from the Top End! I've been a member of GR for a year or so, and I realised I should belong to one Aussie group.
I love horror, fantasy, YA, animals, thrillers, and myste..."
Hi Wolfrott and welcome to a friendly group of people who read all kinds of things on all kinds of devices, bought, borrowed, pinched (no, never!). I'm sure you'll find some kindred spirits.

Hi Julie - sounds as if you enjoy doing a bit of everything. Welcome to the group.

I'm not sure about the rules for promoting one's work in this group, so I will leave that be for now unless anyone asks.
My other interests include learning about the mind, how it works, as well as other psychological oddities. I use this sort of thing in my writing, to get into reader's heads and twist their perceptions. I also enjoy running and martial arts - particularly Northern Shaolin Kung Fu - and would like to study Wing Chun or Tai Chi Chuan one day.
My career, besides performing, has included working as a Systems Programmer/Analyst (I wrote some of the 1900 phone numbers you see advertised late at night), a salesperson (things ranging from vitamins to computer to phones and more), customer service for one of the big five banks, and even administration. I've been there and done a lot!
I am interested in meeting with other Australian writers (and readers) as well as making new friends within this group.
Please feel free to drop me a line.
Welcome Chris :) Lovely to have you with us. Here are the author guidelines for our group - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... - and if you click on the Author link you'll see where to promote your work.

Thank you, Brenda. I'll check that out.

Thanks, Ace. I'm looking forward to seeing more conversations and interaction here.

Sally, it is a fun career to have. Lots of story ideas come from it, especially characters with even more interesting tales :)
How about yourself? What do you each do?

My uncle Steve came to stay with us once, and a few of our spoons went missing. Anyway after he left we found them in the spare room and they were all bent. I'm not sure Uncle Steve could read minds though. He always seemed pretty sleepy.
Anyway, welcome.

I work for consumer affairs/fair trading - also a fun career - I do the number crunching :)

Thank you, I'm sure I will - just getting my feet wet still :)

Hi Nan, welcome to the group! Great to have you with us :) Feel free to browse the threads - there's lots to see :)
