Seriously, have fun with the kids and with your writing and just check in here from time to time. You know where to find us.

I'm Mike, I live on the Central Coast of NSW and work in the city, so I get about 3 or so hours a day to read on the train. To be honest, reading is the best thing about that commute let me tell you.
I'm a "one day I'll get around to writing my novel," kind of person but last year I submitted a short story to an anthology as a "lets see what happens," type of thing and it got accepted. The anthology - Sproutlings - is just about to be released and I'm fairly certain I'll collapse in a heap the day the book arrives on my doorstep.
I'm currently working on a bunch of different ideas relating to my writing, and I produce content for my company's blog on a daily basis, so life is all about words.
When I'm not writing I'm the live in slave to 3 ragdoll cats, and an amateur gardener. Well, not so much gardener as I put seeds in pots to see if they grow. I'm currently waiting on my first ever attempted Chilli plant to grow from seed. The first of several seeds burst through the soil in the pot today, so thats a start.
I joined this group the other day in order to meet some new bookworms and some new writery-type pals. Feel free to say hi.
Welcome to the group Mike :) Lovely to have you with us. If you scroll down the group's home page until you reach the Author spotlight section, you'll be able to create your own thread there. Sorry I can't link it for you (on my phone) but click on the folder heading then on "new topic" in the top right hand corner. Good luck with your writing..tell us about it in the Author section..you'll find there's lots of interest...

Thanks PattyMacDotComma. One day I'll be a proper writer so hopefully will be able to keep you entertained for hours. Everyone has to start somewhere though. First step, long road ahead :)

Thanks Michelle. Seems like a nice, friendly place to hang out and chat to other book worms.

Thank you Dale. I keep seeing "bits," of it on Facebook etc and every time I do I have to pinch myself.

Thanks Carolyn. Between you and me, I can't wait to get hold of it. It all seems a bit ethereal at the moment. You know how you know something is real, but you won't believe it till you're holding it in your hands lol.

When all 3 decide they want attention, at once, they definitely fill up the whole bedspread Ace lol.

I think I saw an ad for Sproutlings on the New Confabulations Facebook page. I'm in the Upper Hunter myself.
Welcome!
I’m Sonia Parin - reader/author
I enjoy reading across the board: mostly contemporary & historical but also fiction, fantasy, crime/suspense, non fiction, graphic novels…
I’m currently writing a series set in a fictional small country town nestled in the alpine/high country cattle region of Victoria, Australia.

Welcome!"
Hi Leonie,
I wouldn't be surprised if you had. The editor Morgan Bell is a promotional Wunderkind! She's even got a give away going on on Goodreads that going gang busters.

I'm always in awe of those who can write so good luck to both of you with your writing :)

Ditto Carolyn.

I also live in Darwin and have now about 15 years. I have traveled a lot and still love coming home to it, but I don't live in the city, but on a rural block of 10 hectares out near Berry Springs. We are fortunate in having all four of our children and grandchildren here as well. I hope you enjoy this site.
