Hi Everyone,

I'm Mike, I live on the Central Coast of NSW and work in the city, so I get about 3 or so hours a day to read on the train. To be honest, reading is the best thing about that commute let me tell you.

I'm a "one day I'll get around to writing my novel," kind of person but last year I submitted a short story to an anthology as a "lets see what happens," type of thing and it got accepted. The anthology - Sproutlings - is just about to be released and I'm fairly certain I'll collapse in a heap the day the book arrives on my doorstep.

I'm currently working on a bunch of different ideas relating to my writing, and I produce content for my company's blog on a daily basis, so life is all about words.

When I'm not writing I'm the live in slave to 3 ragdoll cats, and an amateur gardener. Well, not so much gardener as I put seeds in pots to see if they grow. I'm currently waiting on my first ever attempted Chilli plant to grow from seed. The first of several seeds burst through the soil in the pot today, so thats a start.

I joined this group the other day in order to meet some new bookworms and some new writery-type pals. Feel free to say hi.

I'm Alexander, animal lover, hiker, recent uni graduate, and more recent ex Dick Smith employee :( Though now I guess I have more time to read! Usually sci-fi/fantasy, but leave me alone with a book and I'll read it. Recently trying my hand at writing - I did that classic thing of writing stories instead of assignments, and am completely surprised I finished uni at all :P but last year decided to put it together into something close to sensible. Finished a novel (debating if it's publishable) and trying to learn how to do short stories.

I also live in Darwin and have now about 15 years. I have traveled a lot and still love coming home to it, but I don't live in the city, but on a rural block of 10 hectares out near Berry Springs. We are fortunate in having all four of our children and grandchildren here as well. I hope you enjoy this site.
