Elmo Ensio (elmoensio) Hi all, my name is Elmo, I am a Finn and I live in Norway.

When I was a teenager I read Morgan's Run and liked it. Twenty years later I read Jo Nesbøs first book where the story is mostly placed in Australia. I got inspired and spent couple of months exploring all nooks and crannies of Australia as part of my round-the-world trip, read Bill Brysons book and now I am about to finish a book about the great barrier reef.

I joined this group in order to discover more great stories that are based in Australia or thereabouts.

Cheers!

Ian Laird Hello there everybody, I have just put in my entry for the Spring Challenge – the Bingo one, which I think is quiet an enticing way to do a challenge, so I thought I should introduce myself properly. I have been on Goodreads since early 2014 and it’s been a great experience so far, as I have got to know people, write reviews and share opinions. I really like the diversity of views and especially I like talking to people in different parts of the world. I live in Sydney, with a wife, a son and a dog. My taste in reading is broadening, from nineteenth and twentieth century classics to Indian authors, science fiction and detective novels. I have always liked Biggles books. Not so strong on Australian authors, which is one of the reasons I joined this group. Oh, and I barrack for Hawthorn. Sorry.

Hi Ian! Welcome!!
Im not so big on Aussie authors either. I read one the other week that was good, and I'm currently reading an Aussie written crime/thriller one which is excellent so far. Excited to see what sort of talent we have here in Aus :)

I'm in Sydney too!

Enjoy!

Hi Brenda, Thank you and everybody for the fabulous welcome from the Aussie Readers people, clearly a well-run group. Total respect for the Geelong Football Club, Alistair Clarkson has said more than once that Hawthorn has developed itself on the Geelong model. I'd be very interested in a review of We Are Geelong

message 6846: by Farisha (new)

Farisha Pace Hi all!

My name is Farisha, I am a newbie to Good Reads and I live in Melbourne. It's pretty cold down here so this winter after a long time I have gotten back into the habit of reading.

I needed to let go of reading novels for a while as I was studying uni and I needed to read text books instead. But since I have finished (due to graduate this October - yay!) I have been able to get back into reading!

The reason I joined Good Reads is because;

a) I love the idea of the page
b) I really need to broaden the genres I read so I thought this would be a great place to start!

I enjoy reading biographies (inc. auto), non-fiction, I love books where I learn things that I can also relate to i.e. human mind, religion (I am really interested in Islam). I also enjoy old school fiction books but sci-fi just doesn't tickle my fancy.

I have been reading through a lot of the comments on this thread and it is lovely to meet you all.

If you have any suggestions for good reads, please let me know :)

Farisha

Thanks Molly!

We are nearing the end of winter so we should be warm and happy soon!!

I love the groups here, definitely spending some productive time looking through a lot of them!

Thanks for the warm welcome :)
